The canoe on the lake sounds nice...other than the possibility of a Ginormous Skeeter swooping down and carrying her away. Buy her a heavy dinner beforehand to limit this possibility.

A yoga and salsa class might just be a fun activity for 2 friends to do together. sharing fun activities with a friend is great stuff. Its even more fun than doing fun stuff solo. Trust me, of this, I know.

2nd, keep it loose and keep it fun. if you spend too much time creating a romantic situation, it will come off as being "forward" or "pushy". Provide a fun evening and be without expectations, or need of rewards.

“Are you up in the Boundary Waters these days? I haven't been there, but I have been to Woodland Caribou canoeing. I remember that up there when you get out on the water, sometimes you come across a rock outcropping in the middle of the lake. When I paddled past them before, I was thinking, "How romantic!" If you have something like that, paddle out to it with an evening picnic. Bring plenty of bug dope. Then eat while watching the sun set.

If you want to go the extra mile, bring a boom box and a salsa CD to play on very low (so as to not drown out the loons) from the canoe during dinner. Or maybe instead of salsa, play some type of latin serenade-style stuff.

Then make reservations for a yoga and/or salsa class for the next day. You can get the second date out of it then. Just don't throw any moose poop at her. ;)

“The coolest date was a horse drawn carriage (sp?) ride downtown Chicago. I was all ready to break up with this guy and that made me change my mind... (for awhile anyway) If I'd have been smart maybe I'd have kept him; because I never forgot that night. Right down to the music that was playing on the radio.
