Also ELO...(living thing??) Got to listen to this again to make sure I still like it though. lol I have a couple names in mind but cna't think of the songs: chapman, (don't even know how to spell here name or if i talk about tracy chapman...I think I mean the other chapman) see...it's a problem.... BIG HUGE BRAIN CRAMPS clapton dylan they each had songs out that I really liked but can't find them... dammit. so...what i would like for you guys to help me with...is to post any song that you really like...preferable older, but new is fine. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!” 8:08:01 AM 12/08/04 “Chicago, It Better End Soon” 8:11:32 AM 12/08/04 “Gem, trying to help you here. You say "the other Chapman". I am not aware of another Chapman from my experience. You wouldn't mean Harry Chapin, by any chance, would you? Clapton and Dylan have had so many songs that listing them would be prohibitive. Any clues as to lyrics or such and I may be able to narrow some of those down for you.” 8:12:26 AM 12/08/04 “Nazz - "Hello, Its Me" hey, you said old!” 8:13:57 AM 12/08/04 “nope, so maybe it is tracy chapman. for some reason I thought Chanice?? It maybe tracy...dammit...told you i have real brain cramps about this... I got NOTHING!! nothing at all! Total Brain cramp! I do remember they are very popluar songs. LOL I know I am a lousy help...but I hoped this thread would somehow bring me back from my loss of oxygen to the brain. hahahahah i got to go right now, but will be back around noon. Maybe brain working until then. :)” 8:15:45 AM 12/08/04 “oh, one fo the i think clapton songs tells about death of the girl...i think?? hmm... I THINK :( it was just a really good song, well I thought so. you still hear it once in a while on the radio. Actually I don't think it's THAT old.” 8:17:25 AM 12/08/04 8:28:27 AM 12/08/04 “EC worte "Tears In Heaven" for his son, who perished in a fall from a window down the block here in NYC in the mid 90's. These are the lyrics. That may be what you are thinking of... http://www.eric-clapton.co.uk/ecla/lyrics/tears-in-heaven.html As far as Dylan goes, "Like A Rolling Stone" may beone of the more popular ones. Or, "Knockin' On Heaven's Door". Or, well, let's start with those before the list gets much bigger... last edited: 12/08/04 8:30:11 AM” 8:29:02 AM 12/08/04 “Tears In Heaven?? ...about the death of Clapton's young son? last edited: 12/08/04 8:32:21 AM” 8:31:48 AM 12/08/04 “Treebeard, what are you, like a DJ or something?” 8:32:47 AM 12/08/04 “Yeah. In the winter of '65, We were hungry, just barely alive. By May the tenth, Richmond had fell, it's a time I remember, oh so well, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and the bells were ringing, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and all the people were singin', They went Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na Back with my wife in Tennessee, When one day she called to me, Virgil, quick, come and see, there goes Robert E. Lee! Now I don't mind choppin' wood, and I don't care if the money's no good. Ya take what ya need and ya leave the rest, But they should never have taken the very best. The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and the bells were ringing, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and all the people were singin', They went Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na Like my father before me, I will work the land, Like my brother above me, who took a rebel stand. He was just eighteen, proud and brave, But a Yankee laid him in his grave, I swear by the mud below my feet, You can't raise a Caine back up when he's in defeat.” 12:18:49 PM 12/08/04 “Every time I make one of favs, Gem.
