“Gunman storms stage, kills 4 at Ohio nightclub

A gunman stormed the stage during a heavy metal concert in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday night, firing at the band and audience and killing four people before a police officer shot and killed him, according to police.

One of the dead was guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.

Pantera was a kickass band, and whether you liked Heavy music or not, noone deserved a fate like that. RIP Darrel.”

But you know what, some of us do care. The guy was onstage performing and making people happy, for crying out loud. Did it ever occur to you that he has a family, friends, and fans that love him and the music he made?

These musicians did pay taxes, long hair or not.

This would surely be a sad sad world if everybody looked the same, played the same music, ate the same food, wore the same clothing.
Souldn't we celebrate the idea that anyone can break free from the culture that demands we look like the rest. Dimebag was able to make a good living by doing what he loved. As a result, he was able to dress and groom himself the way he wished.

But at this point we don't know anything about the shooter. Was this shooter a fanatic metalhead? an antiabortionist? a pissed of neighbor? Was it a drug deal gone bad? Could have been almost anyone, eh.

I brought up John Lennon because he was also a musician who got shot. Tallented, yes... but so was Dimebag. Very good guitarist. (very good!)(I am not a fan of metal)(nor was I a fan of Lennon)

I have no comment on the Wisconsin hunting incident at this time. The facts haven't yet been brought out in a court room. The reason I brought it up in the first place was to point out that guns are everywhere and almost anyone can carry one weather they are crazy, metalhead, disgruntaled, doped, military, cop or angry hiker. I saw Pantera a few years ago in Nashville. They kicked total ass! Prong opened up and they were also Awesome!
Darrel was one of the top Heavy Metal guitarist with his name on lots of music gear. My friend Bill uses Dimebag Darrel pickups in one of his guitars. Great Sound!
