There is no reason why we can't go any-goddam-where.

If some of you monkeys can't keep from hootin' and hollerin' after 10:00 PM, then you can get kicked the #&%!$ out!!!!

The morons who were being loud last year were told to STF up and nobody had to be removed.

I know when and how to STF up.......pissin' in the bushes is another matter.

Okay campers, here's the straight scoop. Talked to Dean last night. He suggested we would be more comfortable at Jess Judy, since we would have the campground to ourselves and would not have to worry about bothering other people.

Here are what I believe are the pros and cons of each:

Stuart:

Pros:
Close to Elkins with a Kroger and Wally World. Has water on site, showers at the campground. It is in a meadow along Shavers Fork (swimming allowed).

Cons: It is more than 30 miles, one way, from Seneca Rocks, which is a kind of central area for the main attractions that most people will want to see. It is downhill from the regular campground, and sound carries uphill. The same meadow is a day-use picnic ground and swimming area.

Jess Judy:

Pros: Sits off by itself. Has South Branch of the Potomac adjacent to it (swimming allowed, also kayakable), Closer to attractions, Smoke Hole is a very beautiful (often overlooked and bypassed) valley.

Cons: Shopping is not quite as convenient or well stocked (There are IGA stores in Petersburg and Franklin and a Food Lion between Petersburg and Moorefield. Franklin is on the way to Spruce Knob and Seneca Rocks, as well as other attractions), no water on-site, but we can get it at Big Bend Campground just up the road about a mile. We have vehicles with us, so this is not a problem and people can probably work together making water trips. We can rig up shower stalls.

So, the question is which campground. Dean thinks Jess Judy would work best, and I agree. We are backpackers, so we should be able to have a pretty good time with this. Weigh in with opinions. I will reserve the site this afternoon.

I vote either way. I will camp anywhere. Not worried about noise, I think we can control ourselves.

Also, when you reserve, please let me know how much. I want to pay for one day.

only one day?
you cheap slum lord!
LOL

$105.00 for three nights.

if we take two group sites it will cost $210.00 (plus tax and whatnots)
divid that between 40 peeps and it will only cost like $6.00 each

Eat my shorts!

What's all this crap about excessive noise?

Does Dean prohibit talking after hours?

Is someone bringing a Woodstock PA system?

As long as we can swim or wade close to where we camp, I don't give a rat's ass.

Oh and another thing, lyra must come on this trip or I will stop believing that she is for real.

Bearmagnet, too!

Okay campers, I reserved the entire Jess Judy campground from July 14-17, total cost of $342.00. I will not be able to calculate the cost per camper until we get a list of who is actually going to go, so I may hold off collecting until the actual trip.

That would come to $10 a head if we get 34 people going, so it's not an unreasonable fee, in my estimation. If we get more people, the price comes down.

I think we should set up tents on one side of the campground and Party Central on the other. We can have up to 40 people per site and I think up to 20 vehicles, so that should still allow us to spread out nicely.

I will start getting material together, including maps and lists of attractions to see and get that out in the next month or two, depending on how many other things I have to take care of in the meantime.

Complaints can be directed to the complaints department at www.eatme.com.

Since Gremlin and Bobo will win the cookoff, there is no point in the rest of us entering. So Gremlin and Bobo should prepare enough food to feed us all.

I thought WK was buying the campground, thereby reducing the cost to gratis. In return, he is entitled to buy Boardwalk and Park Place and build hotels on each. I fully intend to avoid landing on that space!
