Mapleleaf doesn't drink? That must mean the apocalypse happened yesterday [insert record scratch followed by the dim, yet suddenly noticeable hum of crickets here]

Noooo, Mapes doesn't drink. I'm ashamed of you blighters, saying our resident Pottymouth drinks. I repeat, Mapleleaf does NOT drink.

That was not a drunken Maple squatting in the grass.

That was not a drunken Maple trying to go skinny dipping at the waterfall when the rangers sent her packing.

That was not a hungover Maple the crawled out of the tent late the next morning looking like roadkill.

Not our Mapes.

She doesn't drink.

She inhales.

Hey Geobeet, how far is this place from Spruce Knob?
Roam Around

Not more than a 30-minute drive. It will be listed in the Day Trips that I am compiling.
Geobeet

It could take more like an hour to get from place to place.

Spruce Knob is a twelve mile ride UP a dirt road from Route 28 in the valley.

That part of the ride could take close to thirty minutes.

THe road to the top is not nice.

You're better off with a bit of rain, otherwise the dust is a bear.

You will not be disappointed Divinity. The campground is located in Smoke Hole Valley, a very beautiful valley with some craggy knobs and one very nice rock exposure called Eagle Rocks. North Fork Valley is the next valley over. Via a cutoff road it is closer than MarkO is making it out to be. It is perhaps the most beautiful valley in West Virginia. All of this will be described when I get all the info together. Nobody will go home from this trip disappointed, not even MarkO.

A craggy knob is "rocky outcrop" in Northeasternese...

When I get older, I hope my knob doesn't get craggy! Maybe that's why old men are so grumpy! LOL
