oh you got the first one. That one was before they made Clouseau the star. The Phantom was the star of the first one. I like the "return of the pink panther", "Pink Panther Strikes Again" and the Revenge of the Pink Pathner"

Strikes again is the most popular and is the one with the famous does your dog bite line.

ENS - how did you make out at REI, once you got the "proper" directions?

Pictures look nice and bring back some memories for me. Glad you didn't get any rain since it looks wet enough out there.

I'm pleased to announce
I got me some nice shiney new fire engine red REI trek'n poles! They will make their debut this coming weekend in the Roaring Plains. Thanks for the directions guys. Pennsy pretty much guided me right to the doorstep of the Philly REI.

if there was just one word allowed to describe that trail, I'd use "WET" and if there were two words allowed to describe that trail, the second would be "rocky". That is the wettest trail I have ever hiked on. Perhaps that is why it is called the "Thundersawmp Trail". The campsite is awesome! I felt like I was sleeping on a bed Saturday night. I was very comfortable. Probably my best backcountry night's sleep ever.

I think after all the rain we had lately just about anywhere is wet. The pipeline we hiked up to get to Bald Mt. Sunday was like a stream and that was in the higher terrain.

Evil Rocks
Just Plain Evil, in that classic Pennsylvania AT style...

...in fact, not that it's nearly as bad as last time, but I did feel a soreness in my left knee this morning, in the same spot that I busted it last time. Funny how it didn't bother me this whole time until I went back to TS.

...just plain evil, I tell ya.

Pennsy et al... :-)
You shall be glad to here that Yoda did in fact catch up with us and find his way into my pack. Must have been when we stoped to sign the trail register. I was glad to see him when I got home. LOL

nice pics, great campsite.

richb and i hiked to the summit of bald mtn, in our new quest to summit all of PA's ten thousand 2,000 ft peaks. just kidding.

very scenic hike with a miniature oak ecosystem and a huge cliff with talus. The views were exceptional, you could see a cross section of the allegheny plateau, as well as the ridge and valley, pocono plateau and elk mtn.

There is a Bald Mountain in Luzerne County and one in Lackawanna County. Both have nice views and both are 2260 feet elevation. The one in Luzerne county is more remote and is next to State Gamelands 93. The one in Lackawanna county is on West Mountain in Scranton.
