One of PA's Finest Dayhikes!

We started out around 10AM. Two members of our group went straight ahead along the Golden Eagle Trail, while the remaining three of us took a side trip up the Webber Trail to an awesome vista at the top. We then bushwacked straight down about 900 feet to Wolf Run, then picked up the GET to catch Dave & Elaine at Buelahland Vista. We all continued together from there to Bonnell Run, Clark's Pasture and back up a mountainside to the Raven's Horn. By that time it was getting dark, and the rest of the hike back to the trailhead was in near-to-complete darkness. Trail end c. 5:30PM.

Great hike! Excellent trail! Beautiful weather! Nice people! It doesn't get any better!

This was an excellent dayhike that I highly recommend. I wish we were able to spend some more time at the Ravenshorn, but it was getting dark. Next time I'd like to do the trail maybe counterclockwise and hike up to Wolf Rocks or maybe part of Miller Run on the way back.

M Silver,
Nice pics. Sounds like a nice trip. I'm gettin' crazy here. I haven't been out for a few months. I'm hoping to get in some winter hikes. Let me know if you guys plan anything in the upcoming months.

Nice!! Another trail to add to my "must do" list. This is near the Black Forest Trail?

Yes, it's a little south of Slate Run and right across the road. We could see the BFT from the vistas. There were good views of hemlock mountain and the Algerine Wild Area.

Nice pictures. Hey ENS, if this is near the BFT, it can't be too far from you. We should go check this place out sometime...

keep in mind, the GET is strictly a dayhike, camping is not allowed due to its popularity and lack of level terrain. it's a nine mile loop, with a wide collection of views and cascades.

I think a trip like this might be legal. Park out on Route 414, hike into the GET hike some parts of it and bushwhack over to Miller Run, explore some side trails and camp over there. Next day finish the GET trail and Webber vista and hike back to 414. Since no camping is taking place on the GET it should be OK.
