Anyone know of a cabin, with good amenities, nice fireplace and such that's available in the mid-atlantic, NE this winter?

Give me some more info on location? NE is pretty big. They have some nice ones in the SNP and if you become a PATC member you can get a discount.

not sure how far up you are willing to go, but we stayed at a sweet cabin in the Adirondacks a few years back. it was great
had a fireplace, grill, 3 bedrooms, kitchen and
skiing and snowboarding 2 mins from the cabin

nope not at all.
pretty good deal for a full kitchen. it had pots, pans, coffee maker, dishes, silverwear
it had everything you need except sheets and blankets and pillows.

remote?

it is right near Lake George. there are only a few cabins open in the winter which means no crowds :)

it is a very sweet area in the dead of winter.
snow?
its the Daks, when is it not snowing LOL
want me to find the place?

If you want something more remote (a good hike in) check out the Myron Glaser cabin in VA. http://www.patc.net/activities/cabins/cab_list.html

I stayed there a few years ago and there was lots of snow. It's primitive, but really awesome because of that.

If Y2 is coming up my way, I'm sure I could come up with some good hikes for him to do.

You can do a google search for the state you will be in and try to put in specifics like "river" cabin or "lakefront" cabin etc. to narrow your search.

Then there are always cabins or yurts available in State Parks, but you have to make reservations for them well in advance.
