“not sure how far up you are willing to go, but we stayed at a sweet cabin in the Adirondacks a few years back. it was great
had a fireplace, grill, 3 bedrooms, kitchen and
skiing and snowboarding 2 mins from the cabin

“nope not at all.
pretty good deal for a full kitchen. it had pots, pans, coffee maker, dishes, silverwear
it had everything you need except sheets and blankets and pillows.

it is right near Lake George. there are only a few cabins open in the winter which means no crowds :)

I stayed there a few years ago and there was lots of snow. It's primitive, but really awesome because of that.

“You can do a google search for the state you will be in and try to put in specifics like "river" cabin or "lakefront" cabin etc. to narrow your search.

Then there are always cabins or yurts available in State Parks, but you have to make reservations for them well in advance.”
