FONT HELP!!! AWWWWWW

“I screwed up...I designed this print ad a little while a go and used the wrong font (don't ask) anyway...they guy now likes the new font better and wants to use it on his new site. poblems is that this font is on my computer that doesn't work (can't really fix it right now, so i don't have access, and it is kind a urgent too)

anyway...if anyone has this font pleaseeeeee let me know what it's called.

it's a pretty simple font, but I don't have it on this computer and i can't remember what I used. all the info is on the other computer.

“Wine! Hmmmm. Should be easy to find the font. It appears that the first "i" is missing the dot, unless the letter is part of a distorted "h."


While checking for words beginning with "afh," I discovered this beautiful dog. Life is full of pleasant surprises.

“liz, this is not times, it's not any font I have on this computer.

Nowslimmer the first I not missing the dot, the letters are very close together.
the loops in the letters and the way the "a" is shaped..is giving me problems... i have many that are very close, but not exactelly the same.

nowlslimmer, want to know why they call that poor dog affenpinscher...it translates into:
monkey pinsher.

“Try your luck. I came up with more than 30 possible fonts. If you have a few more characters, it might help. Suggest you avoid guessing, they will bring up a lot more questions as you go along.

Find Font by Sight

From the link under the dog:
"Originating in Germany, the name Affenpinscher means, "monkey-like terrier". The breed was developed to rid the kitchens, granaries, and stables of rodents. In France the breed is described as the "Diablotin Moustachu" or moustached little devil."

A lot of stuff came up with google that might tell more. "The Affenpinscher is characterized by his monkeyish expression."

“Installing new fonts in Windows.

Open Fonts folder and choose Install New Font from the File menu. The Add Fonts dialog box should appear.

Use the Drives and Folders sections of the dialog box to indicate where the fonts you want to install are currently stored.

The names of all fonts available for installation will then appear in the top section of the dialog box. Choose Select All if you want to install the whole lot. To install particular fonts, hold down the Ctrl key while you select the fonts you want.

When you're finished selecting fonts, click OK. In a moment your new fonts will appear in your Fonts folder and will be available for use in your programs.

OR use Drag and Drop to install.

Get two folders on the screen, the folder with the new font and the Fonts folder. Then drag the new font's icon over to the Fonts folder.

Just google up "free fonts." Some of them are kinda crappy but there are some really good fontographers (yes, that is what a font designer is called) out there.

I manage my fonts with Adobe Type Manager. Much easier and much more control.”

Oh, I forgot...it's a PC font. I have a huge cd with Adobe fonts, searching throught that one too...

for now he's happy with another font I used. ( never liked his "logo" in the first place...but hey...)


And I am using adobe typemanager deluxe, but the font is on the OTHER computer.

What the font allows you to upload an image of a font and it will scan it and match it to a known font. It does have some limitations though. It doesn't like characters to touch each other and the sample needs to be horizontal.

when you replace all the brackets with less than and greater than symbols.

color can either be natural language for the basic color (red blue green black white etc) or hex color (#000000 -zeros- is black, #FFFFFF is white, #0000FF is a shade of blue)

size is 1 smallest to 6 largest

face is the font family (Ariel, times new roman, georgia, verdana) Keep in mind that the end user can only see fonts that they have installed in their machine.
