i'M SORRY TO HAVE missed this...
but, I would have disliked traveling 450 miles to have all rain. Did a nice tune up day hike today locally, and the weather was superb.

No they didn't show up. They had other things that kept them away.

Did anyone cross or attempt to cross the creek?

that was the creek crossing?!?!?!
I chose wisely! I'll catch ya guys on the next go round, if its in the cards...gotta look at the dates and length of time the trip is scheduled for. Distance is a deciding factor for me next year on what trips I'm gonna do. The Mighty Trac has a ferocious thirst and gas prices can equal a flight to Vegas, if I'm not prudent.

Yes a attempt was made, there was another man who was from Birmingham that went across, he almost made it but he lost his balance and went down. He wasn't planning on spending the night over there so I don't understand why he would not leave his pack on the other side.

Wow, looks like bailing on this trip was the right choice, although I'm guessing you had fun anyway waterdog.

I don't think bailing would help with that much water

Hopefully it will be drier in January. We have had a remarkable amount of rain this month, already more than 8 inches.

Two of my little girls named the dog Little Dude, but he is just called Dude now. He is a cool dog so I think the name fits him well.

Thanks for the trip report and the pics you sent me. I hate that we couldn't make it, but with that much water we probably would have chosen an alternate trip anyway. The trail in one pic looked like a small stream! Maybe next time we can catch it when its a little drier. Hopefully I'll get to make the Jan. trip. There is a lot of things going on that weekend because of the holiday.
