Enjoy a Cold on in Roaring Plains, WV th is weekend

I was just browsing the trips page and noticed that the only trip this weekend is the one to Roaring Plains in West Virginia! We got a good group going, so if you don't have anything going on and feel like backpacking through some of the only Alpine area in the Mid-Atlantic states then come along with us.

It will be cold, windy and probably snowwy. No snowshoes or crampons necessary though. Warm clothes absolutely necessary. I recommend atleast a 15 degree bag, if you have a 0 degree even better.

We're going to have some fun! This is the last weekend before Christmas! I was thinking we could start a new trailtalk tradition by having some kind of secret santa gift exchange. What does everyone think. Something stupid like $5, gag gift type stuff. Could be fun.

This trip starts Friday night with a small night hike to camp and ends Sunday afternoon!

“My boots are freshly waxed and I'm gathering the gear. Looks like a cool weekend is ahead. Wool skivies for sure.

Two Christmas parties Friday so we'll arrive Saturday morning. I guess we'll meet y'all at Hays Knob.”

We will leave Baltimore about 6:00 PM Friday.
That should get us there by about 11:00 PM.
