WK - that's called "Kraft paper", if you get the white paper, it's called "butcher paper"... :-) great for a cheap alternative And all you need to "dress it up" is some colorful ribbon, or rubber stamps... :-)”

If you are careful to not wrinkle the foil they look pretty darn cool.”

I aws just wrapping presents today, I started out with newspaper... but that was quite boring, so I glanced around the room and saw the NOLS Catalogs sitting out, paged through them and found that there was many full page pictures of things like mountain ranges, waterfalls, beaches etc. So I cut each page out, ended up with about 10 full size pictures and rewrapped all of my presents thinking to myself "I'm going to have the coolest wrapping paper this year"”

“I used to use the comics, but since we haven't subscribed to a newspaper in years, it's kind of hard to do these days... :-)

I've even wrapped presents (that are large or extra bulky) in large white kitchen garbage bags (or other colors if I have them!).
Of course, you usually have to use a couple of them, if you use the white ones (or you can see the gift inside!)

I just gather the open end together and tie it with a big bow. Then trim the top and fluff it out so that it looks a little prettier.... You can re-cycle and use the bag in your smaller waste baskets... :-)”

I used to save the wrappers from reams of paper to wrap with, there were nice designs on the back side. I still use the white stuff and put stickers on it. I save the tissue wrap that comes in packages or that stores use for glass.
