“I have been day hiking from Grindstone campground to Wise shelter and back. SNOW at Wise shelter at NOON was 9 inches and snowing at almost a white out. By the time I got back to Thomas shelter at 1:30 pm my gators of 10 inches were pushing snow above my knees. YEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so grateful to live here within 5 miles of the Grindstone campground and 2 miles from the AT.”

Was up Monday also. Took one of my partners (not domestic) up to Elk Garden and hiked up to Briar Ridge b4 he got tired of me cruising on my snowshoes whilst he trudged. We saw noone also though we did see 3 cars at Elk Garden.

BTW Never knew anybody from the 'rock. Never been to Cranberry or Dolly SOds. Need to get there. Too many trails, not enough time. Going to Mitchell MLK weekend.”
