Its friggin cold

“It got down to 5 here in Ohio yestarday and we had an inch of snow. And it's STILL here today! Honey's loving the cold. I just checked on her and she's out in the yard laying in the snow chewing on sticks. Last weekend when we had that cold snap she was running through, up and down, and laying down in all the creeks we crossed.”

“Our golden loves the snow also (as long as shes running around) I took her out into the woods yesterday it was 0 with the windchill and she was having a blast.”

We are headed to Sanibel on Friday for Christmas in New Years . . .that should be a change (although it is only in the 50s there today)”

“It's so rare that I "get" to wear my Down Winter jacket I once needed from Nov-Feb in the North Country. After about an hour of dust/cob web removal removal I was ready for this crap.

“I knew it was cold back there (I'm in Oregon), but it's interesting to get some local perspective. I've been trying to follow the Michigan weather a bit more than usual because my sister's family is moving this week from Commerce to Ann Arbor.

Nothing like quite like going in/out of the house a million times doing home projects, packing and schleping boxes, etc. when it's a friggin freezer outside. All that chaos and Christmas too! I feel sorry for 'em. I'm too far away to help though. Maybe that's a good thing.

I wamred my jeep up for 15 min this morn (I hate to waste the gas but wreck my engine in the cold) and it was still cold inside...My work van was parked for 4.5 days and was like an ice box.”

“Looks like your Midwestern Arctic blast made its way over to the coast. It's 12*F right now along coastal New Jersey, and I don't even think we broke 20*F all day today.

Looks like I forgot to winterize the windshield washer fluid in my car and got a bit of a surprise when I went to wash off my windows this on the way to the office this morning. Fortunately, it'll be back up to 50*F by Wednesday, so I'll be able to take care of that...”

“Christmas Day surf report from Southern California:

Got up this morning to a clear, calm sky and 42F air temp. Headed to the beach with my boogie board for about 2 hrs riding waves; some good 4ft rights breaking near the Huntington Beach pier. Water temp was about 55F. Might go for a jog this afternoon at the 3PM low tide; air temp is supposed to get up to 65-70F.”

I've had the dog out in some frigid temps befoer and he just doesn't fair that well in very cold temps anymore. It won't be a mile until he'll start picking his paws off the ground as if to say "My pads are freezing!.

Looks like a short walk around the neighborhood is only option now.”
