It's late!
I just had an extremely late night at work and it took about 20 minutes to warm the car up.

It's about -10 right now, the low is -26 tonight. Brrrr! It was -46 two weeks ago.

Ahhh West Yellowstone.

It's fun to go outside and throw a cup of hot water in the air and watch it mist up and fall frozen to the ground.

I recently made the mistake of rushing out the door to work when I still had water in my ears. The water froze between the parking lot and the front door of the office. My ears were clicking all morning.

Q, sounds like our night. The woodstove has the house all warmed up, Sass has homemade mac-n-cheese in the oven. Got a couple videos, let the R&R begin.

I think the weather gods overheard me talking about how the 5 minute walk to my new job wasn't that big of a deal. You see, I used to work in the Prudential Building in Chicago. The train I take to and from the city on a daily basis lets off in the basement of this building. For 5 years, I would get off the train then walk up a few flights of stairs, then up into the elevator and onto the 28th floor. Never had I to brave the elements.

This all changed last week, which is about when winter decided to show up here in Chicago. Have you ever had tears from your eyes freeze to your face because of the cold? No, I wasn't crying, but the cold actually made my eyes tear up, then freeze to my face.

Okay, naw call me a pousie!

Snot freezing solid in and around your nose hurts more. Thankfully I had that happen only once when I was a kid.

Been there WK, last winter I was working in downtown Denver and had about a five block walk from my parking lot. There were a few days when I would have gladly paid the robbery charges had the building lot not been full.

the regular temp today is atleast 30 here, but man, I was just pumping gas into my car and the wind chill was killing me. It was painfull. They took away the gadgets that hold the handle in place so you can sit in your car while it pumps and I forgot my gloves. I am finally starting to thaw out.

Use your gas cap to prop the lever in the "on" position. It still automatically shuts off when full.

In New Jersey they won't let you pump your own gas.

I ran into that a few times while road-tripping on a motorcycle.

"Just let me get off the dang thing before ya start pumping!"

Gasoline nutz has got to be far worse than tennis balls.

There was just something in the news about some guy at a beach who emerged from the water with the normal shrinkage and sat in his slatted beach chair. Evidently he dangled a little, slipped between the slats, things returned to normal and he was stuck. They had to cut the chair away from him. Wasn't you, was it?

It's Thursday so it's hot in the office today.

The way it works here is:
Monday morning - Cold
Monday afternoon - Hot
Tuesday - Hot
Wednesday - Cold
Thursday - Hot
Most of Friday - Hot
Friday after 3PM - Cold

It's never at comfortable.

My office used to be like that, lumber.
The thermostat was in the secretary area, but controlled a much larger area. Most of the secretaries were going through menopause.
It was hell for everyone else till the Chief Engineer got fed up and set the thermostat himself, and threatened to fire anyone that changed it without his permission.
StoveStomper

That's the thing the Thermostat is set to turn everything on and off at the same time every day. No one can touch it but the building owner. Ah the joys of working in a building built around 1900 with hot water radiator heat and one thermostat per floor.
