I don't have a walkie-talkie and cell phones won't work up there... So just send up smoke signals if you want to get a hold of me, lol

Make sure you have a campfire permit first, though! ;)

Hikerchic & I left the campground shortly after Johndoe. We stopped at the South Fork trailhead to leave her car, & at the ranger station to get a fire permit, THEN missed the Cherry Hill turn off. Down to the Kern and back up.
Got to the trailhead about noon & started hiking. Had a nice lunch about half way.
We cut cross country toward the south end of the meadow and walked along the western edge looking for tents & asking other campers if they had seen you guys. After getting almost to the north end of the meadow, crossing marshes and burned out areas, shouting "YO..TRAIL TALK!!!" again and again, we gave up the search and camped on the edge of the meadow.
We had a real nice time enjoying the views and conversation. Wish you guys could have joined us! 8^)
Sunday we day hiked farther up the meadow then packed up and had a great hike back to the car.

By the way, where were you?

I was at the trailhead at 10 'til 10:00 am. I was getting worried when 10:30 came and went and nobody had showed... John Doe finally showed up about 10:45 and mtmnslady and her friend Paul came a few minutes after that. Anyway, we waited until 11:42 and then departed. We hiked to the meadow, circled around it to the north, and ended up picking a campsite at the east end, right next to the creek, right near the trail to Rockhouse Basin where we planned to hike the 2nd day. Ray found us out there and said he'd seen you near a group of boy scouts... We shouted across the meadow a few times, but seeing as the meadow was over a mile long, I didn't think that was going to work. Anyway, sorry we missed you!

navi forgot to mention that we met a new person....john doe aka Richard. He was really nice. We all camped at Kennedy Meadows the night before the hike. It was funny how we all got that within minutes of each other....AND that john doe found us only to lose us the next day. :)

Yes, sorry john doe and the rest of you! We missed you guys too but Navi and I ended up having a great time! It was such a beautiful area! I loved the domes and all the many varieties of wild flowers. There were blankets of gorgeous, yellow, pink, purple, white, orange and blue flowers everywhere. Had a great time taking photos!

Thank you navi for your wonderful company as always. I'll slosh around a meadow anyday with you.

It was amazing the amount of wildflowers we saw... The variety was incredible! It would be easier to name the Sierra Nevada wildflowers that we didn't see. And we even saw a few that one doesn't normally associate with the Sierra but rather the Mojave Desert!

John Doe is a nice guy, so is Ray Estrella and mtmnslady's friend Paul. Glad I got to meet those that I did and sorry I didn't get to meet those that I didn't...

Anyway, I just uploaded all my pictures and I'll get them and a trip report up probably tomorrow :)

OMG!!! Missed you guys by 15 minutes??!!
OK, now I'm bummed! If only that slow driver on the dirt road had pulled over and let us by when he first saw us instead of after 5 miles we could have made it.

oh wow! We did only miss you by 15 minutes. That's still amazing that you didn't hear our yells. You really ditched us didn't you?

I forgot to mention that navi and I met Ray Estrella on trail! Too bad we missed camping with you.

Here's my photos. Didn't realize how many I took.

The last image is Mt Williamson! That's my favorite peak! I like the pink flowers following the brook too. I can't believe there's so many flowers and everything is green! I'm starting a trip Saturday and worried about the snowpack! :-(

Nice pics!

Got home safely
Dropped Paul off at his car and was home by 4:45pm yesterday.
Wanted to say it was a fun weekend. I enjoyed meeting Ray and JohnDoe. Hiking with Bearcrossing again was fun. The area around our campground was so beautiful and peaceful. Manter creek running right by. Great for soaking those tired feet. Yep sloggy meadows what fun :). I should be posting pictures later today.
I'm sorry I missed meeting Navi and Hikerchic.
