Good one guys.

Sunday was Emma's b'day party. She got a new baby doll. Sunday night we overheard her telling the baby doll, "baby, you're just drama, don't be such a drama queen..."

I think we need to quit callling our daughter a drama queen.

My friend just emailed me. Her little boy is 3. She was looking at pictures with him. There was one of me and she says to him "That's mommy's friend Pixie." He says "No that's my friend Pixie. I want to hug her."
How frickin' cute is that?!?

Gracie has been saying Momma and Dada for the past month or so. She doesn't stop at Dada, usually strings it out to Dadadadadadadadadada

Old story, my father's friend comes over who is bald, but now he has a toupee. Many years ago at that time, my sister was....maybe 5 or so. She said to my dad's friend, "Joe, I like you're hair". You never heard such a silence. It was so funny later on to recall the incident and still is today. Joe didn't comment and accept the compliment. I wonder why, lol:)

One snowy, school day morning, I came in from cleaning the driveway with the snow blower. I'm a big fan of Bath & Body Works. I LOVE all those smelly lotions. I was helping my 6 year old son pull his snowpants over his boots. While I was bent down close to him, he said, "Mom, you smell soooo good!" I was thrilled and thanked him. He proceeds to say, "You smell like a snowmobile!." Yup, he's ALL boy. :o)

I have a niece, Seciley, who just started kindergarten this year. A couple months ago after she came home from school my sister-in-law asked her, "What did you learn in school today?"

Seciley replied in disgust, "Well, not enough. I've got to go back tomorrow."

Last night our elem. school had a silent auction. Afterwards my wife was helping to clean up and a 5th grader was helping her. I was helping deliver the tables back to the different churches where we borrowed them from. One of the guys helping with the tables is a major league baseball player. His son is the one that was helping my wife. Enough with the setup.

mrsdayhiker: Reece, you know Jim from school that was helping mommy? His dad is a professional baseball player.

Reece: Well my daddy is an engineer. He builds things. I'm going to be an engineer when I grow up only instead of buildings I'm going to build robots and rocketships. Oh yeah, I want to be an artist too.

Emma: I’m going to be an engineer when I grow up, only I’m going to be a girl engineer.

mrsdayhiker: Your dad will be glad to hear that. You can be an engineer and be an artist for your hobby. Daddy has a hobby. He's a backpacker.

Reece: Well, I'm a backpacker too.

Gracie is starting to discover that she can fart with her mouth. What do we hear at 6:30 this morning over the baby monitor?

Gracie blowing farts to wake us up.

It is funny as hell though. She started doing it and Barbie didn't tell me about. I guess she wanted me to hear it from her.

I was giving her a bath when she started farting. Did it with a straight face too.

hahahaha! I about fell of my chair. you should think he gets his ass kicked here at home... RIGHT!!!

Tonight I picked up some pizzas and spent the evening with my aunt and uncle and the kids. We ate some, had a few beers, and watched Charlie Brown Christmas and March of the Penquins. As we left, my Aunt Carol slipped money into my pocket to pay for the pizza. Luke (5) saw this and suddenly brightened. He said, "Hey Mom, if you give me that 20 dollar bill, then I'll have 22 dollars!" What a goof!!!

What's he saving up for?

A few weeks ago Abby came out of her room (princess dress on), and her little pal Tyler in tow, to announce that they were married. I told her she was too young to be married already. Her response was that it was too late, they'd already kissed and everything!. She waved a plastic ring bedecked finger in my face and said "See my beautiful wedding ring!".
Tyler apparently told her she's the prettiest girl in the world with sparkly eyes the same day.

I think I might be in trouble.

My oldest (5) is getting into the basics of addition. Usually she asks things like "what's 3 + 4?", and we'll tell her to put 3 on her fingers and then count up to get the answer.

A few days ago she asks me "Dad, what's 100 plus 1?" Not thinking, I tell her to add it up on her fingers.

"But Dad, I don't have enough fingers!"

Ha Ha! I love this thread as well because I get to look forward to hearing all these things in the upcoming years.

The last couple of days when Gracie wakes up, we hear either Mom mom mom mom or da da da da dad coming from her room. When we get in there she is standing in her crib with a big ole grin on her face.

How much longer for you Di? The whole thing went so fast for us. It helped that she was fine during the whole pregnancy.

If I could give you guys one piece of advise it would be to stay relaxed after your son/daughter is born. They pick up on stress so easy. Relax and enjoy the early days with them.

Gracie turned 10 months old today. Theses have been the fastest 10 months of my life. It is neat to see them grow up, but you want them to be small forever so you can cuddle. Nothing beats it. I sound like a girl!

Sorry, 2 other things.

Swaddle the little one. It will save you big time on sleep.

Video tape him/her once a week in the same position for 5 seconds. We have been taping Gracie for 10 seconds (I am going to edit it later) every Sunday night. It will make a cool (I hope) time lapse video.

Oh yea, if you ever have any questions about anything, e-mail me. Glad to share.

What a great video idea, Brian!!

Another idea for you. Get a journal and write down all the cute things they say as they say it. Keep it easily accessible. Some of their comments are more precious than pictures. And if you don't write it down, you will forget some of the gems.

Yup. I wanted to do the journal idea. I'm keeping a pregnancy journal (the one that goes with the WTEWYE book)

I found a monthly photo frame on ebay that matches her bedroom set. Like those ones for school pictures, each photo is a different year, but this one is the 1st 12 months. I'll have to get that too. :)

I'm at 33 weeks. YIKES!! LOL. My *official* due date is Feb 3rd. Doc says she will definitely be here before V-day.
