“We are cleaning house for a get together with some friends. Abby was helping out and I asked if her "works friends" were coming, like "peanut". She informed me that peanut moved, I asked where. Her response " the coast of canada". I have no clue where that came from.”

“My son (just turned 11 years old yesterday) has been spending Christmas vacation at his mothers house, and on Christmas day they took a train from Chicago to Tennessee. He called me from the train station the night of the 25th. When I answered the phone, there was nobody there so I hung up. A few minutes later the phone rang again and when I said "hello" there was only some background noise. I had no idea who it was or what was going on, when all of a sudden I heard my son saying "what the frick?!!"

I again said, "hello?"

He said happily, "oh, hi Dad!"

"Son, what did you just say?"

"Uh....frick."

"Son, don't let me hear you say that, or anything close to that again, okay?"

“Emma hasn't been very good at blowing her nose. She usually opens her mouth and so when she blows her lips just tend to flap in the breeze. She currently has an ear infection and is very congested.

Last night at supper my wife says, "Emma, tell daddy what you learned today." Emma closes her mouth and blows for all she's worth. A double barrell comes out the nostrils. No napkin or tissue, just full speed nose blowing. My wife yells out, "tell him, don't show him!" It was hilarious.”

“We were browsing the selection of games for our kids' V-Smile (educational game system). They have them rated "Ages 2-4", "Ages 3-5", etc.

We told our girls to pick something that read "Ages 4-6", to cover both of their abilities so they can play together.

Our oldest: "But Mom, I'm not 4 OR 6. I'm 5!"”

Reece got in trouble at school one day for not sharing a game. There were 2 others playing with him and he wouldn't let a 4th play. We finally figured out that the game said 3 and up and he thought it meant only 3 could play the game.”

“It was a gorgeous and cool night out last night, so we were all sitting in the back yard when Laurel pointed to our fire bowl and said "Daddy! Can you make a hiking fire? Please please please!" She calls all fires we make "hiking fires."”

The other day I was at the Evil Empire...I mean Wal-Mart and carrying my two year old daugther. She started waving her arms and screaming "Help! Help!" People were looking and I was extremely embarrassed. I asked her what she was doing and she said "Annie Daddy" Turns out she'd been watching Annie at her moms. She was imitating the scene where she gets nabbed from the orphanage.”
