Idears?
Are there fun places to hit without the white stuff? I know the coast and Point Reyes. Does anyone have any woodsy idears?

Thank ye.

Are you looking for backpacking or day hiking? It appears that for the next week you will get either white stuff or wet stuff pretty much anywhere.

rosey You could go north to the redwoods a bit. Thats woodsy and They dont get much snow. Also I used to play a lot in the hills round auburn in the winter. Sometimes there was snow but never a lot. Its a good time to explore the canyons while its not hot.

I really like Ishi Wilderness, especially if you bone-up on the story of Ishi, etc., gives one a sense of local history.

Thanks guys. I shoulda said a multi-dayer. Ishi and the redwoods seem a little far of a haul for me. 4+ hours, no? If I drive that far, I guess I could just go to Yosemite and snowshoe around.

Where is Etna?

thanks, all.

Ishi's not too bad a drive. Since it's not that far off I-5 from Red Bluff, you very good roads most of the way & can make good time. I think it's only about 140 miles to Red Bluff from Sac (2 hours), depending upon where you start.

Big Sur. There's a hot springs in there, can't think of the name right now, but it's a day or two hike in from the coast. I think you can also get to it from hwy 101. I've never been there, but have read trip reports.
