Sorry for creating two threads... I'm a novice at this technological marvel of posting capabilities.... besides I thought that the other threads title was extremely useless :)

The Trap Dike in the Adirondacks looks like an awesome place to do ice climbing.

If you have never ice climbed before, I would wait and get more experienced before trying the Trap Dike. From what I’ve read, the spot where you exit the dike onto the slide, the ice is often very bad. Quite often impassible causing one to have to repel back down off the mountain.

I think I am going to convince my hubby after he retired to move back to WA state. I loved it up there.

I have some limited experiences on single pitch easy grade climbs. What Im looking for is a partner with atleast as much gear as I have to push our limits and start to do more technical work. I'd actually like for find somone who needs a trustworthy second (that would be me) so that I can learn to do more climbs

Id like to go up to NH about twice a month. If you live near Boston we can even take turns driving. Otherwise we could just meet.

ENS is my bro so of course I'd like to climb the falls with you in RGlen.

I am a SCUBA diver and I used to dive regularly (once or twice a week) in quarries around reading Pa. I know the value of a consistent competent, partner.

Russ, go sign up on the trips page - it's the ice fall ball trip - Gpib '05. It's going to be my birthday party. I already got a site.

Well... im trying to keep in on track :) its a thread with only limited room to wander..

NOW... If you ice climb... and you can get out the the white mountains twice a month... or even once a month.... you should reveal yourself to this thread....

come on ...

its easy...

Hello.... my name is __(YOUR_NAME_HERE)__ and im a ice climbing fool. I, __(YOUR_NAME_HERE)__ do here by certify that i can make it to the white mountains at least once a month between the months of january and march (at least... freaking sun)

:p

Oh...

I have jury duty on march 16 (I can publicly announce that right?) first time ever.... so I mean... if its like a big serious case (e.g. Godzilla vs. the family of the late bambi), something like that... I think they make you live in the project housing by the courthouse and restrict who you can talk to and what news (FOX news only) you can watch on 6in black and white TV [no sound.. just captions]. so... maybe I cant go that weekend.

I donno... never performed my civic duties before... I spray painted a mail box and a park sign once.... civic-ly

[not a state park or a park that was suited to the purposes of hiking or otherwise habitable to the people known as trail talkers]

hey, biner, you sure are weird like your brother ; )

maybe you should move closer and i'd try ice climbing with you, but NH twice a month is pretty hard to do.

you should come on the ricketts glen trip first weekend in february that your bro is hosting. some ice climbing will probably be done there. and it should be a FUN time had by all.

ps - good luck with that jury duty stuff.

I dont know if I'm wierd like my bro :)

The nice thing about NH is the quality and quantity of climbs available. Cant beat that.
