For those of you who may not be in the know, Trail Days is perhaps one of the largest hiker gatherings on the East Coast. I think it was initially started as way to get Applachian Trail thru hikers together. Annually held in Damascus, VA (near the TN/NC borders) around mid-May, it's supposed to be at the heart of the NOBO thru hiker season in Southwestern VA (though many of them are already way past Damascus and have to hitch rides back...)

“yeah...they did have fun, but you can't compare the cookout with Traildays. Traildays is much scarier. LOL and trust me...they were crying at home. I remember bryan saying "I thought I am gonna die"

“I plan to drive up sometime after work thursday, but am considering heading north of damascus a 100 miles or so and hitting up hostels and trailheads friday morning looking for thrus wanting a ride to damascus”

“if my knee is doing good i'll join in on the hike. i'll be flying in on friday morning. if my son comes with me i may come a day early and will rent a car . i saw something about a boy scout bike ride and was wondering if that was just for their troop or if other scouts could join in. my son is now an asst scoutmaster(19 y/o)and i'm sure he would enjoy a bike ride.”
