Boy scouts! Here's a good TR with a bad scout experience. The Big Z

I've personally been in a camp site where the scouts seemed to have gathered all the fire wood in a 2 mile radius and left a big pile in the middle of camp. I'm pretty sure you could see it from space.

I'll let Dub explain the troll thing. ;^)

nothing against boyscouts but sometimes....I had a bad expirince too...were they invaded our camp site and nearly lit our tents on fire and made loud noise all night.

Troll!!

The problem isn't with the intent of the scout program, it lies mostly with the leaders who let their kids run wild and crazy, disturb other people and animals in the backcountry, and use those damned hatchets to cut down everything in sight.

Hey, I'm a Boy Scout!!!

I'm a five year veteran.........got out in '69.

There wasn't a fire I couldn't start or food I couldn't cook.

Scouts are the same as regular hikers...some are good and some are bad. I've had both good and bad experiences with them. My biggest problem with scout troops is, well, they travel in troops and their group sizes normally break the rules on group size limits.

I'm sure I've never had a problem with drunken adults who wander around campsites and make a lot of noise all night. What goes around comes around, and at least Scouts (kids) can learn.

hi i'm new
Hi hikerdude, i never had any trouble with boy scouts (my dad was one of the first eagle scouts), but then i pointedly hike on little used trails. I like it wild, like any good woodnymph. What i have trouble with are Forest Service employees...especially those in uniform. Happy New Year!
