Warm would be good except...
OK, so G00SE and I had high hopes of going snowshoeing this winter. But we had family plans for pretty much the entire month of December and couldn't get out at all that month. So of course, it snows like a mutha up in the Smokies. Now we have an entire month of weekends to do anything we want with any weekend we choose, so of course, warm weather moves in and sets up house for the next two weeks according to the forecast.

Waaaaaaaaaah! I want my winter back!

You'll get your snow.

It's freakishly warm here. The temp during the 10 o'clock news was 61*. The normal high is mid to upper 50's. The normal low is probably mid 30's. Yesterday felt like late March.

I know. Same here. And not so different in the forecast for Knoxville. And that same trend is in the forecast for the next ten days. Therefore, I'm throwing a tantrum until [they] put some cold weather and snow back into that forecast.

Now if you'll please excuse me, I need to get back to flailing my arms and legs and wailing loudly.

Just come to California - plenty of snow to go around for everyone, like, around 12 feet in some places last week. Wrecked my plans for New Year's weekend XC skiing - couldn't get up there....

Hey StoveStomper did ya get a White Christmas?
Did ya get any snow on Christmas? We did here south of Baton Rouge. I figure you got some of the frozen stuff as well. I had to work in the mess. The upper decks were all frozen up at work. I actually hugged a heat-exchanger to warm up once. I actually got to wear my Yak Tracks in Louisiana. We saw a great sunset over the Mississippi River. We had a sleet/snow mix falling and the reds, pinks, oranges and other colors were gorgeous. I wish I had a camera.

bd
I think my house got a lite dusting, but I was about 60 miles inland at my folks and all we got there was a little sleet.
Lows below freezing then and today I'm walking around in shirt sleeves and thinking I will have to run the AC tonight. Today's high in the 70s!

The weather this year has been ridiculous. We normally have at least a few feet of snow on the ground here by now and the temps would be getting up to maybe the low 20s during the day and falling well below zero at night. We have a dusting of snow right now and it will probably all melt away today. Even in the White Mountains last Thursday and Friday, they only had a few inches of snow. Thank goodness ski areas have been able to make snow. Most would be 100% open by now. Most of the areas in Northern New England are less than 50% open with very minimal bases. Many cross country areas cannot even think of opening.

Here in the Chicagoland area it was 62 yesterday and it's going to be 4 tonight. Almost a 60 degree drop in one day's time.

hahaha, it always looks like it's coming this way. I have never seen really bad weather directly in columbia though. always around us, next county or so...never really here.

temps dropping here too. right now 72. I think it was almost 80 today, not sure, but it was "hot". They'll drop starting tonight...

We had a tornado warning today. All the wimps from the other companies in our building gathered in the hallway next to our suite. I kept working, knowing that the bad cells were way north of us.

Why do people have to stand right in front of doors? Oh, I know why. BECAUSE THEY ARE STUPID!

it was in the high 50s this morning... now it's snowing...

there was a 200-car accident in mid-Michigan yesterday afternoon, due to a very dense fog... 2 fatalities and numerous injured... they were lucky there weren't more people injured or killed!

One of our local TV stations has "Viper radar" and they cut into the national news last night to show a storm cell near us which had triggered a tornado warning in our county. It was really cool. We watched the storm as it was going over Clarks Hill lake, forming multiple tornadoes (one of which did touch down on land) and could see the lightning strikes in real time. All of this and just a few miles from us but the storm cell was so localized, it wasn't even raining here. Cool.

So humid around here the last few days (fog non-stop) that everything in my garage has a film of water on it. Been in the 50's and 60's, too. Last night and this morning pouring whole lakes and rivers. Now calling for teens over the weekend.

Is is spring, or is it winter?

It was 67 at my house when I got up this morning. I actually opened the windows on a January morning to air out the house. It's already dropped to 41.

No tornadoes though.
