Last Sunday...
Rainrunner, Synchro, Ford and I got out and went over to the Olympic Pennisula. We went up to Hurricane Ridge..in the hopes of snowshoeing. Instead we got the best snow I have ever seen in the Olympics (the Olympics are known for hard, crusty, icey "snow"). It was super fluffy, powdery and we just strapped our shoes on our packs and went hiking instead. Had a nice day out..it was blue skies and actually reasonably warm in the sun ;-)

The last link is Rainrunner's photos...Rainy was taking photos of me on my camera and got a big ol thumbprint all over my lens, and I didn't notice till like 3 hours later! So I have some oh-so-great vaseline photos ;-)

We just got about 5 inches or so here. I was outside for 4 hours shoveling last night. Very cool!

The dog loves to run around and jump in and out of the big drifts.

sarbar1, hubby and I went to Hurricane Ridge one year when there was snow just for a visit, but we found that the snow was packed down so we hiked a trail. We walked with no problem while people with snow shoes seemed to struggle.
