Walking...I mean crawling down from Stone Door with a knee that wouldn't bend 45 degrees! I remember slipping or tripping which caused the stiff knee to bend more than it wanted to. I almost threw up.”

I could get up, going down was the problem. The trail we took basically lead us in a great big circle. We hit an uphill section the was awesome! It was easy getting up that.

“Well, I am going over to the West Virginia Car Camping trip in July and after that, I don't know. Earth n Sky was talking about a trail in Penn in September, which I would like to do.

When is the best time to hike at Savage Gulf? I would think the time we did it, ey?”

“Fall, winter, and spring are the best times. Summer is a little hot to say the least, but at least the place is fairly deserted. May is probably the latest good month, unless you have a surprise cool spell in August like we did last year.”

“wk - ahh Savage, that was a trip. I have seen some out of this world, imo, pictures of Savage during the Fall. Lots of red. I suspect next weeks Walls of Jericho will look like a more rugged version of Savage Gulf.”
