“Land of the Boss and smoke stacks?” 9:25:31 PM 1/07/05 “yeah... why? are you looking for a place to stay? i spent a day there in a nice little campground... Batsto, that was the place last edited: 1/07/05 9:30:26 PM” 9:27:10 PM 1/07/05 “nah, I was just busting the Key West thread” 9:30:19 PM 1/07/05 what do you... “wish to know?” 9:30:54 PM 1/07/05 “lol, that's why i was figuring you were looking for a place to stay...” 9:31:15 PM 1/07/05 “Hey Now, it might be a sucky state, but it's my sucky state!” 9:46:14 PM 1/07/05 “You mean the landfill between the Philly landfill and the NY landfill somewhere between the Delaware River and Atlantic Ocean? That New Jersey? Nope. Never been there.” 9:59:14 PM 1/07/05 “You mean the landfill? Um, I grew up in "East New Jersey". Please refer to The Sopranos for further information. No, but seriously, what's up?” 12:44:51 AM 1/08/05 “LOL, dang ENS you had me wonderin man!” 12:52:20 AM 1/08/05 I've been everywhere, man “How's that song go? "I've been everywhere, man, I've been everywhere. ..."I took my family there a few times, while we were living in Warminster and in Pottstown, PA. last edited: 1/08/05 1:05:04 AM” 1:02:44 AM 1/08/05 “I've been to the Newark airport and driven up the Jersey Turnpike to Saddlebrook. It's just down the road from Patterson. Hmmm ... trying to think of something positive to say about 8-foot chain link fences with razor wire on top of them? > Oh yeah.....razor wire looks like vines and New Jersey is the Garden State.” 9:58:58 AM 1/08/05 “Yes, three counties in NJ are exactly as desribed, Hudson, Essex and Pasiac. Complete with factories, foul smells and high crime, but counties like Sussex, Ocean or Cape May are a different world. Beaches, million dollar homes, Forrests and plenty of undeveloped land. That's like thinking NY is only The 5 buroughs.” 10:16:30 AM 1/08/05 “Yeah, I smell it quite often. What of it?” 10:17:47 AM 1/08/05 shut up TB... “North East NJ has become a trash heap because of NY... NJ is a nice place, the Barrens are awsome and the Mullica and Batona rivers are pristine. Used to go crabbing and had a great time out in Ocean Cty.” 1:11:42 PM 1/08/05 “I've been in the Ramapo Mountains that's by the NJ/NY border. Mahwah....Hillburn....Ringwood State Pk. Many, many moons ago.” 6:50:30 PM 1/08/05 “The Barrens are still awesome. And every AT thru hiker that I've talked to is completely taken aback by the 40 miles of AT along Kittatinny Ridge. Not very much backpacking in NJ -- trailside camping is restricted to only the AT and Batona trails because there are just too many people around here. But the dayhiking is awesome. Ringwood and Ramapo State Parks. Hewitt State Forest. Stokes State Forest. Worthington State Forest. The Wyanokies. Split Rock Reservoir. High Point State Park. Jenny Jump State Forest. Yes, even in the Northeast, there is Palisades Interstate Park. It's kinda urban, overlooking New York City with the freeway running along side it and all, but still, very scenic and alternative to the usual.” 7:04:38 PM 1/08/05 “I've heard that Tony's boys lost a Russian around that place. ;-)” 7:09:38 PM 1/08/05 “I'm headed out to Northeast NJ next w/e. Will visit picturesque Malls and breather smog.” 7:50:23 PM 1/08/05 “Coming to NJ, eh? Sorry. But hey, make the most of it. If you get a chance, check out the Long Path and Palisades Interstate Park. You might be surprised...” 7:54:30 PM 1/08/05 Sandy Hook “spent a day once exploring the old fortifications (circa 1800) and walking the beach around sandy hook. Nice day but after living with the blue ocean of the South Pacific, the dirty grey of the NJ shore water was a turn off. Did not find any used needles on the shore. -------------- As for TB, he lives on Staten Island which is basically a landfill. On a warm day you want to be upwind Wheeeeeeuuuuuuu !!!!” 9:39:19 AM 1/09/05
