The winter clouds are hanging dark and heavy over the Sierra, hiding her peaks from view. The foothill oaks are quiet as raindrops drip from their bare branches. Here and there in the green grass wild mustard flowers are beginning to poke through and show their blossoms. Most everyone is inside today but I am outside trodding through the wet grass and enjoying the cool air.

Just a couple pictures from today, taken from Frazier Valley just a little west of Springville... It's been raining most of the day here and the mountains are getting lots and lots of snow.

Sounds like the marsh grasses down here. A lovely green in winter, the rest of the time brown or black.

They're even better when the wildflowers start popping! I know exactly where that windmill is ;)

Windy, the wildflowers are popping - I've seen several species so far!
