Ok, I know it is a scam... but..

“Ok.. I got this chick talkin to me on yahoo.. about how she was traveling overseas.. and got robbed.. and she luckily is managing to get it all going through friends, but has no way to get home.

So I am feeling all sorry for her, and next she says -- well maybe you can help. I'm thinking, I don't see how, she is way over in Nigeria or some dumb forgotten 3rd world country.

So she says, well I can send you a money order. I just need it exchanged into US funds. Well obviously flags are going up everywhere in my mind -- so I immediately go on the alert.

Get this. "No I can't send it to a PO box. It's an international money order. It has to go to a real home address." So I'm like oh well, because I never give out my home address or even real name over the Internet.

She is like, "So are you saying you won't HELP me now?"

Obviously it's a scam. Is the International Money Order crap for real tho? They can't send it to a PO box? I ain't doing it, just trying to figure out all manner of how they would make my life miserable forever -- if they had my real name and mailing address.

“TD, I seriously doubt if it is actually a woman, although it is possible. The scammers are counting on men to feel sorry for the poor young woman who's stranded in Nigeria...

"She" hasn't offered you a little extra money as a bribe yet?”

“Haven't read the link above, but other similar scams I've read about usually go like this. Money order is initially cleared at your bank, you get the money. You send the money to them. Then the MO bounces from the supposed originating bank, and in the end your bank wants you to pony up.
