“Im my area they're utilizing existing trails almost entirely, linking the kekekabic, border route and superior hiking trails into the NCT system, I know of others where they are developing new trails, depens on the route and what's available.”

“In Michigan (most trail certified so far) they are having to buy property and build trails, along with using existing trails. Even if the trail exists there are still blazes and maintenance to take care of, bridges and such to maintain, etc. It really is a worthy organization.”
