Flat panel vs. regular computer monitorView Messages“I need a new monitor. My monitor on the computer I do most of my work is about to die. Color is already sort of green, and once in a while you'll see horizonal stripes. Weird. anyway...I can't make up my mind: http://www.mwave.com/mwave/skusearch.hmx?SCriteria=3808668 and a dell: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=24053YR&category_id=4009 I need a big screen with best quality possible for least amount of money. I really don't want or can't spend more then $700...but the 24 inch from dell maybe worth it. I can't really find many reviews on the dell, so I don't know. I saw a couple reviews on the Samsung that sounded pretty good. anyone can give me a good monitor referral? like I said, it should be at least 20inches, and have a very sharp picture, but I don't want to spend $2,000 either. $700 really should be the max. Less is better.” 11:32:08 PM 3/24/06 “Gem - I have the 20" version of that Dell monitor. It totally totally rawks.” 7:27:50 AM 3/25/06 “sarge, the widescreen version?? that one would be only around $500 right?? that would be cool.” 7:58:19 AM 3/25/06 “yes, the widescreen version - same model line you may consider bigger if you can afford it - the quality is so good, my wife and I use it to watch movies on - if you go bigger you may enjoy it as a second tv (for DVD or for downloaded movies - I use MovieLink) just make sure your video card is fairly recent and can support the native resolution last edited: 3/25/06 8:04:39 AM” 8:03:41 AM 3/25/06 “thanks! You just saved me some money. well...I may get the 24 then for $700.” 8:40:41 AM 3/25/06
