BowlderSon's Burned ButtView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 27 of 27 messages posted.
“Ouch. Poor kid gets out of the shower, turns on the old electric wall heater, then, in the process of drying off, backs into the dang thing and burns his butt. It's about a 3-inch diameter spot and he must've lost his balance and leaned up against the thing for a couple seconds 'cause the outer layer of skin came right off (i.e., looks like a blister that's already been popped). Antibacterial cream and loose fitting pants will be the routine for the next several days....” 12:04:16 PM 1/14/05 “Ai yah! No tightie whities for him!” 12:04:48 PM 1/14/05 “Ouch! Poor guy! Gotta feel for him...” 12:07:43 PM 1/14/05 “Yikes. Sorry to hear that. Hope he feels better” 12:09:25 PM 1/14/05 now thats funny!!! “butt im really`sorry it happened...hope he gets better soon.” 12:11:40 PM 1/14/05 “EEEYOOWCH! Silvadine cream is supposed to be good for burns, according to my doctor. You'll need to get a prescription for it.” 12:13:30 PM 1/14/05 “Ouch! (I'm sure he'll be real pleased to know you've told us all about it too!)” 12:14:06 PM 1/14/05 “yikes, sorry to hear that. did you kiss it and make it better ;)” 12:16:37 PM 1/14/05 My brother #4 knows how that feels “When we were kids, back in the days of heating bath water on the wood stove, brother #4 climbed out of that round metal tub and backed into the cast iron wood burning heater. I still remember the dance he did, but I've never cared enough to ask if he has a scar. last edited: 1/14/05 12:17:45 PM” 12:17:12 PM 1/14/05 “Amazing that all those years when you expect a kid to accidentally burn himself on something, he never does. Now that he's practically a grownup - SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! Yes, the doc gave us a prescription for the Silvadine or whatever it's called. No, I did not kiss it to make it better - humans' mouths are loaded with germs! Instant infection! Mr. Hyde was very sympathetic - he kept wanting to climb up on BowlderSon's back when he was lying on the bed with a cold cloth on "the wound."” 12:22:03 PM 1/14/05 “OUCH! get him a donut seat pronto!” 12:22:41 PM 1/14/05 “I'm wincing just thinking about it. Butt I hope he getts better!” 12:25:31 PM 1/14/05 The Big B “I've heard of branding your cattle, but not your kids!” 12:41:02 PM 1/14/05 Ouchiowow! “When I saw the title I thought maybe he was in a whole lot of trouble. I'll bet he wishes that's all it was. Yowch! Hope it gets better soon!!!” 12:51:07 PM 1/14/05 “If its a bad burn like that you should take him to the doc, they can give him some cream that will keep away infection. I had a sunburn so bad once that blisters were poping and oozing...they gavbe me soothing cream for it.” 12:54:26 PM 1/14/05 “It could be worse, he could of peed on an electric fence....” 12:56:28 PM 1/14/05 “Branding, hey, now that's an idea. Since it's BowlderSon, maybe his brand could be the big BS! Yes, I called the doc immediately and took B-Son in a bit later. He said I did a great job dressing "the wound." Maybe I can have a career in first aid....” 1:03:48 PM 1/14/05 “You could be an EMT :P” 1:04:44 PM 1/14/05 “Could have been worse, he could hav fell forward onto it!!!!” 2:01:05 PM 1/14/05 “Butt he didn't. Thankfully. Could you imagine the questions in a few years? Girlfriend: honey, how did you get a waffle pattern on your manhood?” 2:04:15 PM 1/14/05 ““Ouch! Poor guy! Gotta feel for him...” Treebeard 12:07:43 PM 1/14/05 Whutta ya gonna do, give him a cheek massage? Bummer about the burnt butt! last edited: 1/14/05 3:06:24 PM” 2:59:09 PM 1/14/05 “What a pain in the... It wouldn't hurt to consult a medical person, but it sounds like it is a 2nd degree partial thickness burn, you can find guidelines here: http://www.ncemi.org/cse/cse1103.htm Note: Do not confuse partial thickness burns with full thickness burns. Full thickness burns have no sensory function or skin appendages such as hair follicles remaining, do not form vesicles, and may have evidence of thrombosed vessels. If areas of full thickness burn are present or suspected, seek surgical consultation because these areas will not grow new skin and may later require skin grafting.” 6:13:25 PM 1/14/05 “Thanks pedxing. It looked "bad" to me, so that's why I got on the phone to the doc right away. The burned area was hurting him, so I figured it wasn't 3rd degree. Once he took a look at it, the doc wasn't too worried - he just said to put the cream on and it will heal up just fine. He must not be hurting too bad - we went to the batting cages last night and he hammered the ball all over the place!” 1:37:24 PM 1/15/05 “So, has he told anyone at school yet, or is this one going to stay quiet?” 1:41:48 PM 1/15/05 “lol, quiet i bet. can you imagine the nickname he'd wind up with at school?” 1:57:45 PM 1/15/05 “He baked his tater?” 2:53:42 PM 1/15/05 “Hot cross buns!” 3:35:36 PM 1/15/05
