Looks like I might be in DC next Mon, Tues & Wed with loads of time to check out the sights.

What to see and do? Cool spots for going out in the evening? The best of best DC'ers - I need your esteemed opinions (said like Cajun boy) :p

I am a perfect gentleman in person. At least to people that I might see again on the trail or might report on my doings to people on the trail who might then run into me and bind me to a tree with duct tape while smearing goo on my most prized possesion.

Anyway..............what kind of nightlife do you like, besides strip clubs?

Come to my restaurant and I'll be your serving slut. Can you imagine another opportunity to abuse me like that?

Actually, I have a lot of leeway in responding to unruly customers. But for you and because of all the things I've done to wrong you, I would be honored to be your servant.

Twinks....

Old Ebbets Grill....good food and it's always packed with celebs of all sorts....

National Geographic is really cool....

And if you care to do something really spiritual....go to the Vietnam Memorial and trace a random name onto a piece of paper...if that don't make you feel something.....then...oh well...but truth be told...it made a big ole tough piss ant like me cry like a baby....

Breakfast in Havana?

Too bad about The Twinker.

Let's do something anyway, all you D.C. fools.

There are good cheap Latino eats in Adams Morgan.
Guess who lives near there?

There is an amazing & cheap El Salvadoran restaurant.....can never remember it's name and I pass it weekly. Grill from Ipanema is supposedly fantastic for Brazilian and a highly rated no frills falafel place just opened up.

Pretty good Ethiopean in the area too.

El Tamarindo just "popped" into my head.

Tall and tan and young and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah
When she walks, she's like a samba that swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes, each one she passes goes - ooh
(Ooh) But I watch her so sadly, how can I tell her I love her
Yes I would give my heart gladly,
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at me
Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, I smile - but she doesn't see (doesn't see)
(She just doesn't see, she never sees me,...)

Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66

Very hip and very '60s.

Blame it on the Bossanova!!!

Ya see, the girls don't wear no tops on the beach at Ipanema.

Bearmagnet, The Pixies?????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Pixies. Had an album called Bossanova. lead singer, Frank Black solos now.

"Formed in 1986 by Black Francis (real name Charles Michael Kitridge Thompson IV) and Joey Santiago, the Pixies went on to become one of the most successful alternative groups of all time.

They soon grafted in bassist Kim Deal and drummer David Lovering and set about recording four vital albums. Their mix of insane, jagged punk, pop hooks and nightmarish lyrics were a breath of fresh air and they became darlings of the rock press and an influence on every young alt-rocker around (including Kurt Cobain)."
