i actually had a freaky dream tonight and this is before i read this thread. i had a dream that someone abducted a little boy and went into the forest with him. me and my co-workers were helping the police search and we found him laying on some kind of altar thing. he was around 8 years old. sorry, about the morbidness, but it really freaked me out and that's why i'm up right now! can't fall back to sleep.”

Marion County's field force is using special search training in the Ocala National Forest, walking from campsite to campsite with flyers and pictures.

Investigators have a field force team out in the Ocala National Forest with 20 to 30 people searching different campsites Thursday.

Meanwhile, a command post is staffed with local and state officers, even the FBI, all fielding calls and tips, including several sightings of the white Chevy Lumina he may be driving.

The suspect, 42 year-old Frederick Fretz, was known to live in the forest at times. He and Adam had gone camping regularly and they do have a tent with them.

"I just want my son to know I love him and again, Fred, please just drop him off somewhere or bring him back, that's all I'm asking," pleads Ivert Kirkirt.

Thursday, Adam's father said the boy had only camped with Fretz in the yard, because he wouldn't allow them to go to the woods together. Now their tent is also gone and Ivert Kirkirt says if this was an innocent mistake, he thinks he'd have heard from them by now.

Discribed as a white male age 42 height 5'11 weight 240 with blond hair that may be shaved off and blues.both photos show what he may look like with no hair and with hair.he has gapped teeth and some are rotten.

“ATLANTA (AP) -- A car belonging to a convicted child molester who allegedly left Florida with an 11-year-old boy was found in Bartow County, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman said Friday.

Frederick Fretz, 42, picked up 11-year-old Adam Kirkirt at Dunnellon Elementary School in Ocala, Fla., Tuesday, police said.

GBI spokesman John Bankhead said Fretz's car was found near I-75. Bankhead said the FBI was leading the investigation.

Fretez was living with the boy and his father, Ivan Kirkirt. Fretz never told Kirkirt or local officials that he was a convicted child molester, a fact that only surfaced this week after he reportedly disappeared with Adam.

Florida deputies on Friday distributed fliers of Adam to area businesses, motels and truck stops. They continued searching the nearby Ocala National Forest, where Fretz is believed to have liked to camp, and they monitored CB radio traffic since Fretz was known to have solicited work cleaning truckers' vehicles. Fretz's handle
name was "Silverfox."

Wal-Mart stores around the nation also planned to hand out fliers of Adam.

On Wednesday morning, authorities issued an Amber Alert to notify the public and other law enforcement agencies once they learned that Fretz had been convicted in 1991 on three charges for sexually assaulting an 11-year-boy in Pennsylvania.

He registered as a sex offender when he moved to Arizona in the mid-1990s, but never registered as a sex offender when he later moved to Florida, a felony that could have kept him in jail longer when he was arrested last September.

Marion County, Fla., Jail officials said they were reviewing their procedures to find out why Fretz's sex-offender status didn't raise any red flags.

The father was not allowed to take or pick his kid up from school and this guy did it for him. The father said he didn't know this guy was a sex offender. Anyway no one knows how they ended up in Georgia, hope they find his sorry butt and ask him!”

“In Illinois legal age used to be 21 for males and 18 for females. When an 18 year old girl became with child by a 20 year old guy, the girl was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

I'm pretty sure one or both legal ages have been changed.”

“I'm not sure what the current law for sex offenders is, but know that what constitutes a "crime" in the national crime statistics guidelines has changed over the years and not every state reports them in the same way (or at all).

Thus, I am skepical when these type of numbers are published/available.

“ChicagoMark - I am leery of all things published in newspapers. In looking at an article I figure that something may have happened to cause the article to appear. But a connection between the article and an event may be only coincidental. I continue to remember that they are in the business of selling newspapers and that is their primary objective.

BTW, I seldom buy a newspaper any more. Just change the names, location or something else and one has yesterday's newspaper(or last weeks, month's, or year's paper). College and university magazines have much better articles. The articles are usually somewhat dry, but some can be exciting and stimulating. I do look at some of the web-newspapers.

That's pretty scary. I had this crazy idea to test my kids, I really want to see how they would react if a stranger would come up to them...would they go with him/her or not. They can tell me NOW "no", but I am not sure if Cameron gets lured with candy or a puppy...it does worry me.

My test: a friend of mine would drive by and talk to them, trying to get them in the car. Only problem right now is that they know all the faces, so I'll have to think of something.
