“NPR just did a two night piece on Colorado Springs. Apparently is has become a real center for fundementalist christians and evangelists.

Anyhooo .. .featured prominently was James Dobson and the Focus on the Family Group.

He moved is operation there from California several years ago. Now has a daily radio show, Tv etc. A multimedia christian enterprise.

They have startted a seperate organization, also not for profit, that will allow them to do more active lobbying and campaigning than they are allowed to through the umbrella religious exempt organization. They can currently only give $250,000 directly, but this will allow them to do more.
