Now, on the other hand, the NE Pats have established themselves as such, also. What it will come down to is, if Philly is on top of their game, they will still have to overcome the NE defense. Those guys don't fold very often. They seem to stick to their opposing players like glue. So, Eagles are going to have to stay on top of them for the whole game, because if they give them any concessions, those guys will take it and run with it..”

Good teams lose to weak teams, some teams are over-hyped, and some teams rise to the occasion. Sometimes teams that are good have never faced the upstarts who have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

On paper, the Patsies should win, and win big. But paper games do not count. You play the game, and whatever happens happens.

If the Eagles have learned nothing else in four years, it is that having the reputation does not win the big game for you. If that were the case, we would be looking at our fourth consecutive Super Bowl instead of our first.

In 1980, the Eagles team that made it to the SB got stoned the night before the game. That is not going to happen this time. Whichever team wins will be the one that prepares itself to win and executes in the face of the other very good team's efforts.

I seem to remember a World Series in which the upstart Baltimore Orioles lined up at the start and looked over at the Dodgers in awe. The awe lasted until the National Anthem ended, and those upstarts took four straight from their revered rivals. Then in 1969, the lowly Mets lost the first game to the Orioles, and then took the next four.

Not on Super Bowl Sunday, for two reasons:

1) I'm working - and with the Pats playing, it would be harder to get someone to trade for that shift than for Christmas.

2) My house isn't rebuilt yet, and I'm still in cramped temporary space. BUT, I will have a party for when the house is ready to thank the many people I owe thanks to (and that includes the good people of TT) and to celebrate a few things (surviving, having a rebuilt and improved house, the one year anniversary of getting married and getting out of the hospital - which I did not have the energy to really celebrate at the time, and four years - Gods and Goddesses willing - cancer free). I'll prolly post a thread on this later, but if you want an invite, email me at backpacker.com - my address there is the same as my user name here (I learned not to post the address straight out because computer programs harvest email addresses). Be sure to title the email with something really obvious like: "Evil Stalker Troll from Trail Talk" or whatever your screen name is because I get eight hundred spam email a day and robotically delete everything that doesn't stand out. If I seem to ignore you, its either because I screwed up and deleted the email by mistake or it didn't get to me for some reason, so please lemme know about that if it happens.

It all depens of if the Eagles will show up with all there game, or if the Pats will underestamite them. It should be a good game.
