weekend update

“for those, like myself, who do real live 3-D things on the weekend other than sit on this site

and for those, like myself, who are suckers for juicey gossip and have a terrible weakness for watching drama unfold

i propose this weekend update thread

c'mon people, help a brother out
this is what i've managed to pick up so far:

1- trail turtle is not buddha bear. supertroll posted trail turtles personal info but that thread got nixed by MTWM. somehow bacpac is involved.

2- stikmon is fed up w/ crash bang.

3- nigal is fed up w/ someone whom he will not name - but it's not crash bang.

4- marko wears women's underwear on occasion - but he insists it's strictly a comfort thing.

“Rewired the phones in my house this weekend in preparation for getting DSL. That was fun.”

“I didn't have to go outside this weekend, cause the wind blew through my cellar and it snowed in under my front door. It was minus 20 and I almost froze my face off in the half hour of so me and the kidlets were outside with our skis and snowshoes. Yeah we had face masks on, but the wind was freakin' brutal. It was tough to keep the house warm, never mind my arse. =D

However, I missed the TT drama as well...so what happened?

I had dinner in Lake Placid Friday and slept at the Alpine Club lodge in Keene. I met up with Peter (guide and instructor), Stéphane and Michael and Peter's gf.

We (well, they mostly) climbed Chiller Pillar behind Whiteface (side of Catamount?). Peter freed the icefall and we top-roped. It was extremely cold, but my cold skills are pretty good - even without a belay parka.

I was pretty much out of my depth with these guys and they ice was very hard and brittle. We stayed out, nevertheless, from 10 am to 4 pm.

It was a blast.”

“Oh yes, because of the cold, all the other people in learning mode cancelled. The gf and I were the only learners.

A lesson in humility, but still a gas.”

“Spent Saturday out on Sacandaga Lake from 7am until 4:30pm just to catch one Walleye while we were setting up. Sunday morning I was snowed in until about 1pm. I missed most of the action this weekend as well.”

“I stayed at home, cooked CS dinner Saturday night and watched the movie she rented.


Yes, the one SHE rented. Open Water. What a piece of #&%!$ movie.”

Some people didn't like it because it didn't "go" anywhere. It didn't get resolved in a neat hollywood type ending.


Both husband got bitten, and then died of blood loss and exposure. The wife let him drift away . . .and then he got eat by sharks.



At some point later on . . the wife gives up, takes off her BC and lets herself sink out of sight . ..presumably to be eaten.



And that's it.
