“yeah, I'm sure the Glens Trail will take a good chunk of time. If we do have time, I think all of the other trails in the park are all flat and easy. I imagine we won't see too many hikers this time of year. In the summer time the trail is packed.”

“ENS, your gonna do the Glens trail twice, won't that take the fun out of it?”

“he says he'll hike the trail Saturday sans boots and crampons, just socks. There will be lots of fun.”

“no way, it's a great trail. I'd do it 4 days in a row.”

“Gem, Pennsy and I will be the only ones there tomorrow until later tomorrow night when Phantom Soul and Backslacker arrive. I think they'll be getting there around 7 tomorrow night. We have a cabin, so all you need is a blanket and pillow and then food and stuff for the bathroom. The cabin is modern. We're in Cabin E and there is a map on the rickett's glen state park website on how to get to the cabin. There is plenty of room. If you make it, you can have the master bedroom all to yourself. Ricketts Glen SP is in North East PA. It is near the town of Red Rock, PA. It will be a pretty good drive for you, but it would be awesome to see you. Bring your crampons and if you have an ice axe, bring that too.

“Nah, I got 'em off EBay, they should have been here Wed. at the lastest. The seller would prolly have the tracking info, but I have no clue. That's just my luck, I guarantee a nice shiny new pair of crampons will be waiting for me when I get back from GPIB!”

hey all...I don't have time to scan through the thead...so what are the temps up there?

do I need to bring a stove? what sort of cabin is it? anything else I don't need to bring?

“Hey Gem, no stove, day hiking gear only, plus a sleeping bag, pillow, crampons, ice axe(maybe?), rope if you have it, a little food, and your poison of choice. Bring a steak if you got one. WooHoo!!!

“night temps are 20 or so, daytime is about 40... it is a bit colder up at the top of the mountain and in the canyons. The weather should be very nice tomarrow if the forecast holds up.(blizzard wasnt mentioned more then once or twice ;)

“Cool LJ! I just pick up some rope 100' of braided nylon. Only $11.00 at Home Depot. 250lbs tensil strengh. EMS will cost you at least a buck fifty. I'm sure the "climbing rope" is of much better quality though.”

“dammit I am still here. I packed...completed all my work though. I am done!! kid is coming from school in 15 minutes. I wait until he's home, then I am outa here. well i am stuck here for 20 more minutes anyway. just got an email. awwww!!!

“Just got back from gPib, I most excellent weekend. Great Ice Hiking, thanks a million Pennsy for the use of the crampons, they worked out great. Great meeting Gem and LJ, TR and pics proly tomorrow.
