mapes - is that directed at anyone in particular, or just a general statement to all males of this board? Either could be true, you know.

The Nez Perz Indians from the PNW - last one dressed in the same Tux for years.

I'm a descendant, so mapes sometimes calls me "perz".

methinks some people around here are bored.

Doc, you have to spend some serious time in Yosemite, a short drive from where you are. Also, go south to Bixby creek, climb down the cliff/hill, and camp on the sand where the creek empties into the ocean. Its a wonderful place.

Hi, DocNice, welcome. I'm also a Missouri transplant to CA, but long ago in the 60's. You all know what that means. I started down south and moved north. Sounds like you may be from Kansas City, are you?

wannabp,
I am from around Springfield. I lived in KC for a couple of years before moving out here. I liked the restaurants and the sports teams, but didn't really like living there.

I grew up in Kansas City, left in '68 and have only been back to visit since. It's a nice place to visit.

Welcome, Doc, from another "newbie" on this site. If you go north a bit on the coast of California, it is very lush with the biggest trees ever...in the redwoods. I grew up in Redding...now that is DRY! And too hot for me.

Welcome to TT Doc! I'm from PA, but my favorite baseball team is the St. Louis Cardinals. I think the Cardinals got ripped in the '85 World Series by KC. Ozzie is and always will be the man at short.

DocNice - Welcome! See you found the welcoming committee!

Hope you can join us on a trip sometime. Be sure to visit the "Trips" page and scope things out.

Don't worry about being a Dr. around here...doesn't mean squat unless it is: Bp.D. (Doctor of Backpacking).
