snow/ice
Out of curiosity, who got what? We had about a 1/4" ice here in the State of Franklin.

Wonder how the Sterling folks made out. I bet they slid down Baxter Creek trail.

just talked to a buddy over in Greensboro, NC and he said it snowed really hard for about 30 minutes, got his little kids all excited and then quit - nuttin. Then it switched to a light sleet - maybe that won't last too long.

We started off with the snow coming down pretty good here in Dayton. Before it stopped it turned into rain. It was too warm for it to stick anyway. I wish the weather would stay cold all winter so the snow would stick around. This cold then warm crap is killing me.

Getting "clobbered" here with continuous days of blues skies, brilliant sunshine, and occasional high clouds. Temps in the 60F-70F range during the day, expected to drop to a bone chilling 40F tonight. Same dull, boring forcast for the next few days here in Southern California.

Mt Rogers Virginia: 1/4 ice at the base of the mountain and 3 inches snow. Did a day hike too scales, then on too wise shelter (AT).Snow and ice there 6 inches and more as you hiked above 4000 ft, much more. Drifts up too 1 1/2 ft from snow fall last week.
I live 3,600 ft and have 1/4 ice, 2 inches snow.

We had the bad sleet/ice over New Year's weekend here. Our ice is still on the ground, just covered by snow. Last night I had cause to be out trekking around on some gravel backroads. You get out too far to the side and you're still slipping/spinning on ice. And it's gonna be there until the long thaw that is spring arrives.

Snow and Sex
Snow is a lot like sex.... you never know how much you're gonna get, or how long it's gonna last.

Things warmed up to the low to mid 20's around me. After over a week of -10 to -25 lows it feels like a heat wave.

This was my trashcan at 9:00 Friday night a little bit after it started raining. It got steadily worse from there. Lost power a couple of times at night. Saw a really cool electrical light show when a limb fell on the power lines across the street.
