BOGUS CALL

As predicted the referees are trying to keep the Steelers in the game with bad calls. They took a TD away from the Seahawks with a bogus offensive pass interference calll in the first quarter. The Seahawks dominated the Steelers in the first half and have little to show for it thanks to the refs.

I think the commercials were some of the worst since it became cool. The only one likeable, for me, was the hiding the beer in the office for morale.

The refs took the game away from Seattle. At least six blown calls!

The refs? Come on, really? A few bad calls---if that's what they really were---didn't cause all the penalties or incomplete passes, or punts into the end zone, or the wasted 15 seconds before the half.

Looks like it's the Steelers. Not the best game for either team.

MVP honors should go to the referees who gave the game to Pittsburgh. Take a look at the stats:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/boxscores/2006/02/05/1989_boxscore.html

Seattle beat Pittsburgh in just about every category. And in the penalty yards: 70 to 20.

Great "job" by the refs. The NFL is a good old boys club.

i agree with ewk about the national anthem. i dont have anything against a soulful rendition (ive heard plenty that were very good), but its just not a song for vocal acrobatics or getting creative. play it straight, and then if you want to, put a big flourish on the end, where it belongs.

the stones were less than spectacular, also. i love their music, but mick just looked silly jerkin around at his age up there

Yes, look at the final score. The refs took points off the board for Seattle. The refs did everything possible to job the Seahawks.

first off, I'm from the Texas, so I'm totally impartial to Seattle/Pitt

here's my list of bias throughout the game

1. pushoff in endzone against jackson
2. random holding call against seahawks in 1st half
3. 2 missed offsides not called on steelers in 4th quarter
4. Ben R not entering endzone on his rushing TD
5. its mid 4th quarter and I'm counting 6 segments on Steelers and 3 for seahawks.... not even including an individual segment with Alexander, the FREAKING MVP this year. He did appear briefly, but not like one that Cowher, Bettis, BenR, Hasselback had.
6. The fumble on Hasselback was caushed by a Steeler, but not the ground. (overturned)
7. 15 or 10? yard penalty against Hasselback for being blocked into someone on the interception.
8. Missed horsecollar penalty on Porter on tackle on Alexander.
9. Delay of game in 4th quarter. ball snapped before timeout called by BenR.
10. Bad spot on 3rd down in 1st quarter on run by Alexander

media bias supremely against the Seahawks. unbelieveable, I'd hate the NFL if I were a Seahawks fan.

Bill Leavy is the Superbowl MVP.

Pittsburgh wide receiver Hines Ward received the most fan support, propelling him to Super Bowl XL MVP.

The MVP award winner is presented with the Pete Rozelle Trophy and a new Cadillac.

Bad Calls or whatever the excuse....Seattle blew any chance they had twice by poor time management. You dont give away time like they did at the end of both halves.

I chose the lesser of two evils to root for. Since the former Mrs. Ray was from Seattle, the Steelers were more appealling.

from Seattle
Pain of missed chances won't leave Seahawks anytime soon
"But they will also see the blizzard of mistakes and they will wince at what might have been."

"'We stubbed our foot a couple of times,' wide receiver Joe Jurevicius said. 'And that's all I have to say on that.'"

"The Steelers' defense bent. The Seahawks' offense broke.

The Steelers couldn't cover Stevens, but he covered himself. He dropped three passes. If he had caught all three, the Seahawks would have won. Pittsburgh's Hines Ward was the game's MVP, but Stevens was as much of a factor in the Steelers' win as Ward.

It was the Seahawks' game to win. And they lost it. This was their chance to take a championship back to Seattle. And they dropped it.

Shoulda. Woulda. Coulda."

"The Seahawks made the kind of mistakes you can't make in a Super Bowl. They didn't handle the enormity of the event. They beat up the Steelers, but they couldn't beat them. In their biggest game, they played their worst game.

'I'm more disappointed in how we played in certain areas,' coach Mike Holmgren said. 'I think we were careless with the football and we had way too many penalties.'"

The Rolling Stones were quite a spectacle.

Mick Jagger and Keef Richards are scarier than ever.

It was like watching a train wreck or a cat fight.......I could not look away.

It seems that people pay money to watch those clowns.
