We had a large turnout in our last election and look what happened! LMAO

Maybe they'll elect a psychotic, too. NAH... What are the chances?

Bush likes to have fundamentalist religious types in control of governments... Somebody needs to tell him that those folks aren't Baptists, <G>

There's only one. LOL!

In rhetrospect that joke probably was a bit over the top and I had Violink in mind when I wrote it. He would have creamed his Joe Boxers if there was widespread CASUALTIES and be on here in a NY minute saying "I told ya so!".

Whatever! I just had a flashback to when I ripped Stratdewd a new one for telling me that I wished death to our soldiers so I could tell TTer's, "I told ya so." Sorry, Oryx. maybe that wasn't fair to the other morons!

Hey, Oryx. F_ck you and everyone that looks like you! And learn to spell casualties, you moron!

I was agreeing with Nigal, Treebeard. If you're going to go on a (typical) liberal emotional hissy fit, have the common courtesy to get your facts straight.

Now, if you don't believe me, then you obviously don't peruse Democratic Underground. Before the election they were eagerly anticipating death/destruction on election day so they could stick it to Bush. After the election, the calls of a fixed/foul election were deafening. Of course, most every media outlet around the world is calling the election a resounding success.

Guess what! I don't peruse the Democratic Underground. I also don't peruse whatever republican BS machine you subscribe to either. Matter of fact, I voted for two republican leaders here in New York. I think for myself, unlike those of you that seek out bias based sources for your information. I am neither a democrat nor a republican, O' faithful member of the flock! Go ahead with the liberal label again, oryx. Rush must be proud that he has helped shape mindless non-thinkers like you. Don't lump me in a category with the sheep, as you apparently are so proudly a part of.

So, I guess you may just be the f_cking moron I made you out to be!

You didn't happen to catch Eliot Spitzer at the National Press Club yesterday, didja? He sounds like the next Governor of New York. Sharp guy.

I am very much supporting Spitzer. I was glad when he decided to take on Pataki. I am soooooo sorry that I actually gave George my vote in this past election. He saved the real whammies for right after he got in. Socked it to the NYC school kids big time. College students got walloped again. And, his biggie, let the MTA push through a fare hike that could have been avoided. They have several "crises" that they must deal with. Yet, at the same time as voting to raise the fares, let the MTA vote themselves pay raises to the tune of 42% and let them take the 200 million dollar surplus that they said they have and let them put it into a "rainy day" fund. All this done by his appointees without one word about it, although the local media had been calling for him to at lest take a stand on it. Spineless bastard!

jeeez.

He really let Bush, Inc. have it on a number of fronts... Why trust private investments to supplant parts of Social Security while the Bush administration is pushing to relax controls on them? Has everyone forgotten the analysts' conflicts of interest scandal already?

And why rely soley on limiting damages in lawsuits while being soft on insurance companies for bid rigging?

But George never comments on those....

"Why trust private investments to supplant parts of Social Security while the Bush administration is pushing to relax controls on them?"

I don't really see what the big deal is about this. No one's existing benefits would be cut. If ya go talk to a financial planner of any skill level and compare what you can do with a balanced, diversified plan using the money that goes into SS and then compare it to the outcome SS would now provide it's clear we can make our money work better under our own control than the government can.

Or am I missing something?

So what’s the problem if they didn’t turn out? They were given the opportunity to make their voices heard and they chose to stay home. If they chose to stay home and then end up on the short end of the stick it’s their own fault.

You can lead a horse to the voting booth but ya can’t make them vote.

It's funny to see liberals eschewing the liberal label. "Liberal" has gained such a negative connotation that what were liberals in the 1990's are now "moderates". Still, they walk like a liberal, talk like a liberal, and smell like a liberal.

And, as is typical, the liberal immediately starts in with the personal insults. Hell, Treebeard, you couldn't even acknowledge that you misattributed a post to me or apologize. Instead, your childish, emotional mindset reduces you to calling me "moron".

Congrats, you're my first candidate for my Twit File! *click*

Oryx, with all due respect, I have a tendency to go for the jugular sometimes. Especially on things that I have no patience with and that liberal thing has gotten so beat up on here, it doesn't even warrant cliche status anymore. Hell, Stovie himself has said it unnecessariily so many times, he needs therapy!

Actually, who I mistakenly went after ( and should have directly put the dogs on that hooplehead, Nigal) was you, and the idea that some folks of the opposing viewpoint would rather see good people dead rather than conceding a point on the freakin' internet! I stand by my being offended by the insinuation and blame Nigal entirely. :) (He loves taking heat)! Peace?

Mott's big hit, written for them by David Bowie, might clarify the term a little:

Lyrics

Lyrics for: All The Young Dudes

Well Billy rapped all night about his suicide
How he'd kick it in the head when he was 25.
Speed jive. Don't wanna stay alive when you're 25.
And Wendy's stealing clothes from unlocked cars
And Freddie's got spots from ripping off the stars from his face.
Funky little boat race.
The television man is crazy
Saying we're juvenile deliquent wrecks.
Who needs T.V. when I got T-Rex.
Oh brother, you guessed, I'm a dude now.

CHORUS:
All the young dudes (Hey dudes)
Carry the news (Where are ya)
Boogaloo dudes (Stand up Come on)
Carry the news
All the young dudes (I want to hear you)
Carry the news (I want to see you)
Boogaloo dudes (And I want to talk to you all of you)
Carry the news

Well Jimmy looks sweet cuz he dresses like a queen
But he can kick like a mule; it's a real mean team.
But, we can love. Yes, we can love.
And my brother's back home with his Beatles and his Stones.
We never got off with that revolution stuff.
What a drag. Too many snags.
Well, I drunk a lot of wine and I'm feeling fine.
Gonna race some cat to bed.
Oh man, is this concerete all around
Or is it all in my head.

Brother, I'm a dude now.

All the young dudes (Hey dudes)
Carry the news (Where are ya)
Boogaloo dudes (Stand up)
Carry the news
All the young dudes (I want to hear ya)
Carry the news (I want to see ya)
Boogaloo dudes (And I want to relate to you)
Carry the news
All the young dudes (What dudes)

Carry the news (Let's hear the news come on)
Boogaloo dudes (I want to kick you)
Carry the news
All the young dudes (Hey you there with the glasses)
Carry the news (I want you)
Boogaloo dudes (I want you at the front)
Carry the news (Now you all his friends)
All the young dudes (Now you bring him down cause I want him)
Carry the news
Boogaloo dudes (I want him right here bring him come on)
Carry the news (Bring him here you go)
All the young dudes (I've wanted to do this for years)
Carry the news (There you go)
Boogaloo dudes (How do you feel)
Carry the news

Yeah know what, I was just telling birch on the phone yesterday that after Kerry ran I have a new respect for Clinton and recognize him as a better pres than I gave him credit for at the time.
