“Anybody had experience with one of these jackets? REI has it now for $69.83, regular price $99.00. How about Mountain Hardwear zip off pants?” 12:04:10 AM 2/10/05 “I have the Precip and I'm happy with it's light weight...it does get a bit steamy at times.” 12:07:25 AM 2/10/05 “I bought one about 4 years ago...works good, but probably not too durable...but for that low price, it's worth it.” 12:29:42 AM 2/10/05 “I bought the precip jacket and pants last season and so far I like them. Mixed reviews from what I understand, but that sounds like a good price.” 2:21:07 AM 2/10/05 “I like mine. I have two, 1 purple and 1 black. I also got the Precip Oracle in red (bigger pockets).” 2:43:40 AM 2/10/05 “Only available in small!” 4:49:10 AM 2/10/05 “STP has it for $69 too. And the women's dart, which is like the precip but lighter weight.” 6:45:55 AM 2/10/05 “But it is yellow. Some people like yellow though.” 6:46:30 AM 2/10/05 “Mine have proven very durable. Breathes fair but mine is many years old and newer ones will breathe even better. For under $100 Precip is a great jacket. If money is no object I'd probably go w/ the Arc'teryx Sirrus or Patagonia Specter.” 6:52:40 AM 2/10/05 “I usually sweat like Cool Hand Luke in a hotbox when wearing a rain coat, but with the armpits unzipped on my precip I felt very comfortable.” 7:16:38 AM 2/10/05 “Have it, like it. The pants too.” 8:31:38 AM 2/10/05 “I have one and like it. The pit zips are huge.” 8:41:54 AM 2/10/05 “I've got both the jacket and the pants. I wouldn't do much off-trail hiking in them, but I am happy with both.” 8:46:17 AM 2/10/05 “ULTRA, I picked one of these up a few weeks ago at that price. I have not tested it yet but I can already tell I will love it.” 8:53:58 AM 2/10/05 “Thanks for the reviews. I'll probably get both.” 9:26:02 AM 2/10/05 “Look at my post about Marmot in the Leki thread. I love my Precips.” 9:49:18 AM 2/10/05 “I also have the Precips, when on the JMT I walked for 2 days in the rain. And to be fair about it the rain was pouring down pretty good, The trail became a stream. The Precip pants were great. (Stops bug bites too) But I felt as if I was getting wet thru the Precip jacket. Now in all fairness, it could have been a chilled sweat, since I was backpacking from Forrester Pass, around Tawny Point, to Wright Creek and on to Guitar Lake. But my arms felt wet. To this day I am not sure what happened, either the Precip jacket allowed water to penetrate it. Or it's lack of ventilation caused me to sweat and that made me wet. Either way I was wet. So I will keep the Precip Pants, but will find something better than the Precip Jacket. Now I use the Jacket only for bug protection. http://community.webshots.com/album/93422627GJvghc/1” 9:58:45 AM 2/10/05 “I wish the hood protected the face a little more.” 10:00:35 AM 2/10/05 “I've been real happy with mine. My goretex only comes out in the winter now. The best part is how little pack space it takes.” 10:51:02 AM 2/10/05 “Love mine, if it gets hot i open the pit zips and it cools right off” 11:03:34 AM 2/10/05 What's wrong with yellow? “ ”11:08:04 AM 2/10/05 “Doesn't work with your pants nor your skin tone. It also looks like the jacket has a lighte blue lining which completely clashes with your shirt.” 11:13:30 AM 2/10/05 “I have the womans one and its a few years old, I've no problems with it except when I'm hiking in a downpour for any lenght of time it seems to not keep you as dry as some others.” 11:17:53 AM 2/10/05 “I just ordered my third set of precips - I seem to need a new set each year. After a year of heavy use they do start to leak a bit, so I replace them. I bought the Precip Anorak instead of the jacket this time because it's lighter than the jacket and was less than $40 on sale. Buying them on sale makes replacing them each year pretty easy.” 11:20:41 AM 2/10/05 “Makes you look alittle green around the gills V. ;)” 12:07:47 PM 2/10/05 “Yea! There is a greenish tint to your head!” 12:09:43 PM 2/10/05
