A short time ago Congress pressed the FDA to speed up approval time because drugs were taking too long to hit the Market. This became "critical" after 9/11.

FDA oppossed this vehemently.

FDA lost.

Now the public & Congrees are screaming at the FDA over unsafe drugs released?

After the Vioxx dust settles prepare for an increase in costs for pharmeceuticals.

Eli Lily is going to get smacked and testing will become more rigorous. One hopes.

Lipstick, my grandmother died from mesothelomia. It was 20+ years ago, though. I don't remember too much about it.

I think there is plenty of evidence for some herbal remedies out there as far as safety and dosage. Like someone said above, let's not discout the Chinese, southeastern Asians, and other native peoples who have used natural remedies for hundreds of years. Hundreds of years of use is probably better in a lot of cases than a couple years of controlled scientific studies.

The south Americans were probably the first people to use the herb that makes cocaine in it's purest form, the leaf. They chewed on the leaves all day to keep them going as they worked in the fields. They were our early day crack heads, lol:) Only kidding!

My (work) partner tore his bicep completely free of his lower arm. Had to be surgically re-attached.

He's a weight lifter & vegetarian. The recovery SHOULD have taken 6 months. With his herbs & natural remedies with help from knowledgable folks, his recovery was complete in 2 months.

His surgeon was amazed. They wanted a cast but he opted for a brace. The surgeon frowned on many of the things he was doing (incl the brace which ins wouldn't cover) but he admitted that it was working & for him to keep doing it.

We are both VERY familiar with the surgical process as we have both been present for thousands of operations & proceedures. We like this medical college & impressed with it's staff.

I shouldn't say the leaf is the purest form of cocaine, but the most natural form. My error.

No one here ever said ALL plants (and thus herbals or natural remedies) are good for you!

I just clicked on a page having to do with holistic medicine and wellness, but I don't know where it came from or how to get it back. I thought maybe it was an advertisement on the side of the page I clicked on accidentally.

Funny they mentioned wellness. Wellness is where you go in for checkups before you get sick or too sick where it becomes expensive for your health care provider to treat you. I was told about it today when I called my health care place to ask about getting a mammogram. I was thinking, it's nice they have this wellness plan, but they don't tell you, so what good does it do?
