Belle and I did a Winds hike with Gannett Peak as an objective. On summit day, Sarabelle was unable to make it to the top of Bonnie Pass. I had to leave her on a rock two-thirds the way up (fed and watered, natch).

I slipped a half dozen times (necessitating textbook perfect self-arrests - heh!) before reaching the top'o the pass.

The view back down Titcomb Basin was unreal. Gannett was just right *there*. I milled around an hour or so, and hastened back to my girly.

Finding her safe and sound was the greatest moment imaginable. We frolicked in the snow and dined on fresh trout...

God Bless America...

hard to say "favorite" but I have a fondness for many...Tumbledown, Saddleback. Katahdin to the north. Trout Brook mtn in winter. Doubletop. The little mtns with awesome views at Donnell Pond. Mostly it's the feeling I get while on the trails that makes them dear to me.
But there are so many I've yet to hike...

Thats tough to say. I climbed Rainier one time when the dawn was incredibly colorful. Spending the night on Mt. Whitney on the last day of hiking the Muir trail was good spiritually, though it was cold and snowing. Mt. Williamson in the Sierra was good, because it my brother and my first peak "solo", and it was so tough physically.
