The video preview on that website really wet my whistle. I have 2000 miles to maine, and though I enjoy it, I think the filmmaker was afraid of heights because he seldom had any scenic shots.

I have CC's DVD and for the most part its very good but the one thing that bugged me was the narrator's pronouncation of the word "Appalachian" - as you may be aware there is two different ways of saying the word Appalachian and I am of the Southern mode and the narrator is of the northern mode.

looking at the preview, it looked like they filmed it in the grayson area.

If I am gonna purchase/watch that DVD, I'll be gone. Those couple of demo minutes already made me wanna hit the trail.

Hello All,
I\'m going to defend my narrator for the program. All my friends have already called me and made fun of the PRONUNCIATION. I wrote the script. I\'m a southern boy, lived in TN and NC most of my life, so I say A-ppa-la-chin (the correct way). So, during my stand-ups in front of the camera I said A-ppa-la-chin. In the dictionary it\'s pronounced the way the narrator says it. I thought long and hard about this! To be honest more people say it the wrong way (non-southern way). So, that\'s why the narrator say it the way he did. It is said both ways in the documentary, I say it one way and he says it the other way.
I\'m glad people are enjoying the film. It\'s great that you are discussing the script and the program. I hope to see everyone at trail days. Visit www.flaglerfilms.com to watch the introduction to \"Appalachian Impressions.\"

I managed to catch just the tail end of the second part of this on PBS yesterday. Very good production. The part I saw covered from Crawford Notch to Katahdin.
