I know what you mean ENS, after a particularly enjoyable trip, you're "still there" for a day or two afterwards. Cool feeling ain't it?

I forgot, it did snow Saturday night for a little bit and there was a tad of white out conditions when you looked out onto Oxshoe Pond.

Ice Tea
I'll meet you at Campmor sometime tomorrow during your shift. Pennsy will probably make the drive up and meet us there as well. I don't think you've met my friend Kate, she'll also be there. Just try not to stare. ;-)

Cool Beans
Sounds like yous had a good time. Y'all were mentioned at our 60-degree, but rainy campsite at Red River Gorge.

The opportunity to post Kentucky as a state hiked doesn't come around too often for me, but I'm up in New York all the time. Perhaps I'll finally get around to FYAO next year. But until then, I'll be eagerly awaiting...

little side note -

Sleds and Bushwacking don't mix.. well.

After all but everyone had left except for the remaining stragglers, LT, MarkO, O'Henry and myself we saw some dayhikers who suggested that we take a short cut across Oxshoe Pond, then bushwack down to Crane Pond and cross it to the boat ramp. They said it was "doable" with the sleds. We followed their tracks and hit some snags and down trees. I snagged Pennsy's sled on a tree and snap! one of the pipes broke. That sucked. Otherwise it was a pretty cool short cut. Sacco and Percious took the trail back and beat by almost an hour. It cut three quarters of a mile off though.

Another side note -

Vanilla Schnopps is awesome.

Yes, the vanilla schnapps was fantastic. I'm buying some for my next trip.

I miss this trip already. I wanna go back.

Anyone ever find out if the snowstorm ever hit on Sunday night. And, if so, how much snow fell at Schroon Lake?

Thanks EarthNSky! Yeah, it's a sweet tent. I'm happy with it so far.

I'll get in touch with you soon about Baxter. But you should try to swing a visit up and knock out some of the Whites with me before then.

yeah, I'd really like to get up that aways sometime soon and hike in the Whites while there is still snow.

Another good climb to try this year is Mt. Mansfield in Vermont. That's a good buttkicker of a climb. Ascend via the Long trail.
