yam, I'll have to work that Sunday.
Sea trials, we are getting a ship ready to 'test drive' it. These periods are when I'm needed the most at my job. Kinda makes up for the slack periods in between.

embear, I'm usually in the Pilot House keeping tabs on the navigation electronics.
I do 'test drive' the ships during the steering and autopilot tests. I tell the helmsman where to turn. ;-)

I was hopeing the sea trial period would be moved back and then I could make y'alls trip.

I think a "Hello to Yam" Trip is in order for Yam after she arrives up here in paradise and settles in a little bit. Perhaps sometime in June would be best and the Bigelow Preserve might be a nice option. Just something for you friends of the little potatoe to keep in mind. :-)

I'll work out details once I get back from my trip later next week.

I hope a welcome to the north trip happens. I was all set to help chauffer Wolfeyes down and hang with you all for a bit. Unfortunately I can't do it on my own. I hope you all have a great time and send Yammy off in true TT style.

You can camp at the trail head if you don't mind traffic going by. Newby Branch trail head would be better. It's more isolated.
I may be there or at Laurel-Snow. I hope to hike Stinging Fork also that weekend. I suppose it would be a waste not to take advantage of what the area has to offer.

I'm looking foward to seeing everyone Saturday morning.

Oh it's right on the trip page!
is it still correct??
this info I mean:

We will meet at the East Piney River Trail Picnic area Trailhead at 10:00 AM EST on Saturday to shuttle cars.
You can go to this website to get more information on the trail and directions.

The directions are very good on the CT web site. Spring City is easy to find also. You shouldn't have any problems. If you do get there late you will still have no problem on the trail. It's very well marked.

I hate it, but I can't go on this trip now. My allergies are killing me. My sides hurt from coughing and sneezing. I can't imagine what it would be like if I actually went into the woods. If I step outside, I start to sneeze. This is even if I take both my prescription medicine and Sudafed.

I just don't see how I can go on the hike and live.

Yammy, darlin', I will miss you. I hate that I can't go on your goodbye trip. Come down to West Virginny in July!

damn bitpusher, have you been to a Dr about your allergies. Hate to see your gonna miss this one.

Yah, I've been on Allegra since they came out with it, and Seldane before that. When I started taking them, it was almost like a new life during spring for me, because when I take them, I don't sneeze constantly all day long, even when I'm inside. I suppose though that I should talk to my doc again and see if there's anything I can do that will allow me to go outside during the spring. It sucks to enjoy the outside and not be able to enjoy the best season of the year.

hehehehe, I bet they have some shot they can give ya.
When I was a kid I had to go once a week to get a shot for my allergies. Thank goodness I finally out grew it.
Ewker

Yah, I may have to get the shots. They'll have to figure out whatever it is I'm most allergic to. That'll be fun.

Maybe some of the Tennessee folks could truck in a bubble for you to hang out in?

Ha! Bubble Bit! lmao
Treebeard
8:39:43 AM
4/18/05

LOL!

Actually I thought of all sorts of crazy stuff, like hiking with one of those dust masks on, or maybe a bandana, to try and help keep the pollen out of my head. But the more I thought about the more ridiculous it sounded. Plus, while doing that does help, I will still be miserable all evening. If I can't get out of the pollen cloud even at night, there's no telling what I'll be like in the morning.

If the hike had been like three weeks later, everything would be okay. My allergies are usually pretty much gone by the middle of May.

No, nitrous oxide! He'll laugh all the way through the trip and won't even remember that he has allergy problems!

He'll sneeze, and crack up, thinking that was one of the funniest things that ever happened to him!

If it were just snot I would go but it's worse than that.

I'm sitting here at my desk. I haven't been outside since the walk from my truck to the building this morning. My eyes are itching and I just had a sneezing fit. I doubled my dose of Allegra and took Sudafed on top of that. My throat is sore. My ribs hurt from sneezing. This is after spending a total of maybe 5 minutes outside today.

I can't imagine going out in the middle of the forest like this.
