Broiling a filet mignon which is almost done and in about 2 minutes I'm topping it with a blue cheese mixture then it's only another minute in the broiler. Sweet Potatoe is going to be another 7 minutes... yum yum yum. Good eats for me tonight.

I am not! LOL

Can we come to your house for dinner?

I think I'm going to do jasmine rice, teriyaki chicken and steamed broccoli. All washed down with lots of wine. :)

DeoreDX, you can also wrap a piece of bacon around that filet. I don't eat beef but maybe once or twice a year, but I was raised on filet mignon. My mom fed me that to get me to eat meat when I was young. She figured since it was the most tender part of the steak, I would take to it better.

I know some people that don't like filet mignon. They prefer other cuts.

Tonight, I'm eating a chic pea and rice dish. I love both, together or separately in other dishes.

Polenta with roasted red peppers and portabella mushroom topped with fresh parmesan cheese melted under in the broiler. Served with spinach salad with avocado and fresh oranges and raspberry poppyseed dressing.

Your dinner sounds good, DeoreDX. Is it a special occasion?

DeoreDX, that's nice. I'm a sometimes-like-to-cook. Too many years of mandatory family dinners to do it every night now.

Did I mention our dessert? Cherry Garcia and chocolate chip biscotti.

It's turkey meat thrown on a pile of mashed potatoes and gravy poured over the whole mess. We used to have it at school like once a week.

I like corned beef over a fried egg on toast in the morning. But since it would kill me if I ate like that every morning, I only have it once every two months or so.

Try salmon loaf with creamed peas over the top! NOT.

I remember my mother's salmon loaf-dry, nasty stuff.

Then I found out my mother-in-law put creamed peas on top when my wife was a child. My wife still can't stand to think of it.

I'm almost wretching now.

peas are yucky! There are very few things I refuse to eat and they are at the top of the list!

I like to put ground ginger and brown sugar on top of my salmon before I bake it. Yummy.
It turns out to be a sweet glaze.

Homemade soup rocks! That's awesome Bowlder!

Soup is great when the weather is kinda gloomy like it has been for the past few days. Jeez, you'd think it was Seattle or something....

What kind of food tonight, Scorchmeister? We went to our favorite Mexican place last night - their carnitas taco is the best!

DeoreDX, my hubby just boiled the salmon in water and spritzes a little lemon on it. He also likes when his friends give him some salmon they smoked.

Let me start by just saying; I love my wife. She works two jobs and keeps me and the house in order at the same time. She’s been working very hard lately and had to work both jobs the last two days in a row. Her birthday is Thursday so I’m going to make her feel like a queen tonight. First, the whole house is going to be cleaned from top to bottom. Second is a candle lit dinner:

Course 1) fresh green salad
Course 2) seafood bisque
Course 3) grilled chicken breast with a light dill cream sauce and steamed broccoli on the side
Course 4) tiramisu

Third: I have her favorite down quilt waiting for her in the recliner where she will stay and be waited on hand and foot while she watches her favorite tv shows.

Fourth: I will gently and teasingly lead her from her recliner to the bed room where I will lay her down and do that certain special something I know she loves the most….

she’ll watch me fold all the laundry AND put it away.
