MMMMM....CAT its whats for dinner...LOL

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/08/10/cat-marinating-car-trunk-traffic-stop-new-york/?test=latestnews

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Police say a traffic stop led to animal cruelty charges after they found a live cat "marinating" in oil and peppers in the trunk of a car.

Buffalo police say officers heard the cat meowing when they stopped 51-year-old Gary Korkuc of Cheektowaga to ticket him for running a stop sign Sunday night.

They say they checked the trunk and found 4-year-old Navarro in a cage, his fur covered with oil, crushed red peppers and chili peppers.

Police say Korkuc told them he did it because Navarro was ill-tempered. Korkuc was charged with cruelty and released; his phone number isn't listed.

Police say he told them he was going to cook Navarro. But they say Korkuc also complained that the neutered male cat got pregnant after he was spayed.

Animal advocates have cleaned Navarro and put him up for adoption.

I've got dried black beans soaking with crushed garlic and a cut green bell pepper. Later today, they will be simmered into serious tastiness.

HPM and I were Laurel free for the evening, so we went to Meskerem, a totally kick-ass Ethiopian restaurant. Their food is wondrous!

I had dry-rub (my own spice mix)pork ribs very slowly cooking all day. Once done, they didn't last 20 minutes. Even Laurel the finicky ate a pile of them. I served them with sweet potato fries and spinach souffle. It's all good, and gone!

Cats like sweet potato fries as much as humans and koi fish do. Who knew? :D

Interesting. Didn't know about the sweet potato. Most cat's (and dogs) are crazy for roasted edible chestnuts (castanea sativa).

Sorta Thai style coconut chicken and rice, with lots of pineapple and a blob of peanut butter thrown in. Plus a few shots of Tabasco, which Laurel never noticed. ;)

Going to make lasagne. I bought all the ingredients and going to make it from scratch. Usually lasagne is something that I do on weekends, because it takes a lot of preparation time. Today I had such a craving for it, it has to be lasagne tonight.

My mom is up for a couple of days, but not with us believe it or not. She came up with a bunch of sewing/ quilting friends and they're hitting Mary Jo's (HUGE fabric store) a thread factory nearby, and a few other sites. Her friends didn't want to go 35 miles in the other direction to come to out house so we're heading to Gastonia tonight. Mom's buying us dinner at Sakura, my favorite Japanese restaurant. Yay, sushi!

When I make lasagna I cut it into squares and freeze what I don't eat. That way I always have a home-made meal at my fingertips.

That's exactly what I am doing when I make lasagne: I cut it into squares and freeze what I don't eat. I usually take frozen lasagne with me to the office and microwave it for lunch.

Since I don't feel up to going to the grocery store, It's either breakfast (pancakes, bacon and eggs) or chicken fried steak and some of the home grown sweet potatoes. Don't know...cold meds have left me in a heavy fog.
