“I want a bigger two person tent for Kamper & I. I'm down to these two. MSR HUBBA HUBBA -http://www.msrcorp.com/tents/hubbahubba.asp or Big Agnes Seedhouse - http://www.bigagnes.com/str_tents.php?id=sh2slI'm leaning towards the Hubba Hubba because of the two entrances (sweet) and the higher inside clearance. fresh opinions welcome” 3:20:55 PM 2/26/05 “How stable is the single pole in the wind?” 3:22:49 PM 2/26/05 “Did you look at the Missing Link at all? It's lighter, bigger and higher. Of the two you have chosen the Hubba Hubba would be my choice.” 4:02:21 PM 2/26/05 “PhantomSoul, I haven't thought of that, but we hardly ever run into seriously high winds, lucky I guess. I looked at the Missing Link, but I like the mesh that the two I have listed. I should have mentioned that. Seriously Tango, read my mind ;~) . It gets damn buggy down here in TN. For fall trips we'll just tarp it. [i]” 4:38:28 PM 2/26/05 “I had the exact big agnes superlight 2 person tent. Nice tent, but i started to get tinny holes in the netting, and after ants was able to crawl through I returned it. It's a really light 2 person tent though. I really dont' care if I have 2 entrances or one, but the side entrance is so much nicer then a front entrance. I think the hubba hubba is a little heavy so I still would choose the Big agnes. If weight isn't an issue I would choose the hubba hubba. Oh the big Agnes stood through real heavy grayson highland winds without a problem. BTW: I exchanged the big agnes for the black diamond lighthouse. Sweet!!! last edited: 2/26/05 4:45:35 PM” 4:42:25 PM 2/26/05 “Ruby's Big Agnis looked super sweet. I lust for her gear.” 4:46:25 PM 2/26/05 “I betcha you do Nigal, I betcha!! LOL Yeah, her one person tent is pretty big. My canyonland I have is larger too, and not too heavy. Hubba, hubba is too heavy for me” 4:47:43 PM 2/26/05 “Thanks Gem. Weight isn't an issue. I really can't tell the difference between a pound or two on my back. We pack really light anyhoo. I think Kampers weight is usually around 15-20 lbs for 2-3 days out. Mine is 5-10 lbs heavier. With two of us, getting up in the middle of the night to answer the call, or just settling in for the night I like the idea of a side entrance.” 4:48:08 PM 2/26/05 “Weight really does go out the window when you're sharing a tent anyhow because you can split the weight between the two of you.” 4:49:44 PM 2/26/05 “yeah, I carry the tent. She carries the food, first aid, cookware & stove, sleeping bags and pads, etc. Works out well IMO.” 4:57:09 PM 2/26/05 “For about $80 you could have this: Lightweight three-season backpacking tent • Sleeps 2 • Weighs only 4 lbs. • Total area: 27.05 sq.ft. • 38" peak height • 2 doors • Stuff sack with compression straps included • One 7001-T6 aluminum pole with New Pole Talon™ • 190T ripstop nylon side walls • Vestibule area: 9.8 sq.ft. each • Made in Korea, assembled in China ![]() It has 2 huge vestibules also. 2 zip entrances.
